i think its a little ridiculous we're always supposed to stand in silence with our hand over our hearts anytime the national anthem is played. like damn...arent there situations where thats inappropriate? or what if i got some place to be?

i feel like as long as someones not being rude then they should be left alone. there have been instances where i havent stood for the national anthem...or during the pledge of allegiance. just cause i didnt feel like standing. wasnt trying to be disrespectful but wtf at being forced to do somethin just cause some music is playing.

personally i dont even know all the words to the star spangled banner.

Are you serious nikka:what:

You sound like a lil ass kid, nikka you're a GROWN ass man. You can stand up for 2 minutes.

I respect anyone who stands their ground on what they believe in.

Keeping it real went wrong for him . The guy he went to talk to told him as he should've known standing doesnt mean you support America they weren't forcing him to recite the pledge . And painting American as some super oppressive country is a bad idea if you want to be a professional Nba player . People want to see a millionaire complaining about oppression ? Go to a Egypt being Jewish walking around all free and see what happens go to china and protest the flag see where you end up. Not to mention he sounds like a trouble maker crying and complaining when the coach shakes up the line up :why:

i was mad at him and the fukkin nuggets in 97, these nikkas shytted on the 72-10 bulls and stopped the streak they were trying to break against the 72 lakers (33 straight). i remember the score was something like 67-38 at half time or some bullshyt like that. bulls never came back. he was beasting that game.

He could stand I don't where it says standing against the muslim religion . His advisor even told him that . He didn't have to salute or say the pledge . And the guy said the American flag is a symbol of oppression and America represents tyranny . How he think Americans going to take that ?? SMh so why do team landed have to keep letting him make millions of there oppressive money. people need to think before taking these stands and the repercussions that could happen . He still played in the league like 3 more years but they acting like he was cut the next day

he also had tourettes and used to twitch all the time. made it all the more impressive that his FT percentage was above 90%.

highlight of his career was prolly droppin 51 against Utah

Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf - YouTube

I remember his saying way back that it would make him super ocd and he would shoot until he made 20 in a row and if the net didnt sound right making it he would start over. We would probably shoot up to 1000 freethrows at times( yeah I made that number up) but it was a lot of them based on that

"his home was actually burned down in Gulfport, Mississippi and the local sheriff refused to investigate saying he would only investigate Americans whose homes were burned down".

:wow:

Yea because Arabs are known for being merciful rulers. :rudy:

you didn't watch the interview. he said he wouldn't stand for the flag in Saudi Arabia.

I read something like that as a kid in the sports illustrated with him on the cover in 89.
