dude an idiot threw away multi million salary cuz he didnt want to stand during a song. Way to let your religious beliefs cloud your judgement,
Abdul-Rauf is perhaps best known for the controversy created when he refused to stand for "The Star-Spangled Banner" before games,[4] stating that the flag was a symbol of oppression and that the United States had a long history of tyranny.
i think its a little ridiculous we're always supposed to stand in silence with our hand over our hearts anytime the national anthem is played. like damn...arent there situations where thats inappropriate? or what if i got some place to be?
i feel like as long as someones not being rude then they should be left alone. there have been instances where i havent stood for the national anthem...or during the pledge of allegiance. just cause i didnt feel like standing. wasnt trying to be disrespectful but wtf at being forced to do somethin just cause some music is playing.
personally i dont even know all the words to the star spangled banner.
