I can't knock remakes because two of the GOAT horror movies are remakes. The '78 "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" and John Carpenter's "The Thing" are both remakes.

If this was something like "Let The Right One In", which came out in '08, then they had a remake out 2 years later, I could understand. But "Carrie" dropped in 1976. A remake is fine.

Besides, this movie is closer to the book. The OG movie changed all kinds of shyt.

Because most people don't know how powerful she is due to budgetary constraints back in '76. Most of her rampage was just in the school in the movie, and most people ain't read the book to know she was full-on Dark Phoenix and damn near destroyed the entire town.
