great article on roy- his dad was a gift and a curse to him. the extreme training messed up his mental at a young age, but he indirectly led to him being as great as he was. looks he like he built himself up to that skill level rather than just being blessed athletically. he always had a great boxing IQ and was athletic. hate to see that dynamic between him and his dad.

i always thought roy should have never went back down from heavy to fight tarver cause he had to lose 25 pounds of muscle which did a number on his reflexes and punch resistance. if tarver wanted that fight should have made him move up to get it. he dug deep to beat tarver in the 1st fight, but that fighter pride is something else. he wanted to beat tarver even more clearly.

i hope this is it for him though that knockout was bad. still probably one of the most talented boxers i ever seen

Basically he should of never moved down in weight, even Mackie Shilstone who help bulked him up told him not to do it and that it would be suicide, but you can't tell Roy nothing.

Another thing is how hard is he really training if he's working HBO commentary and doing all this traveling to promote fights? Traveling from city to city and going back to Russia don't help. He should of had a full training camp like he used to, because you know damn well his opponents are having full training camps training for the best RJJ.

I really hope he doesn't end up like Gerald McCellan, Roy needs to bow out gracefully, or suffer Gerald's fate.

alli know is when i saw a cat with 4 ko's drop him with one punch and get jobbed on the cards...i knew roy was done at a contender level...that glazewski fight spoke volumes on how he had fallen..the last time i think he fought a ranked contender too

like i mentioned enzo is chinny but he is very capable of knocking roy out..that i dont want to see..just like i dont want to see a half blind shot margo make a comeback or seeing and old briggs continue to fight or see somebody like vivian harris being used as jobber fodder
Vivian Harris is still fighting?:whoo:

Yes him losing all that muscle (way too fast) really fukked Roy up smh

Just look at his physique in his 1st fight with Tarver vs his physique against Clinton Woods which was his last fight at Light-Heavyweight

It's bugged too you got the haters saying the weight losing the muscle had nothing to do with his fast decline. :comeon:

When you drop 20+ lbs of muscle within a few months, it leaves you feeling weak and anemic.

Roy would have been much better off either staying at heavy, or taking a few more months for his body to adjust to the change.

All that is moot now, I just wish this man would stop already. shyt is damn near heart wrenching to watch.
