Downtown Raleigh has gotten a lot more white it seems. You see more white folk jogging up and down Martin Luther King Blvd and new houses being built inbetween old houses in black neighborhoods off Bart street. When it use to be most white folks occupied them old historic houses by the governor's mansion.

Yep yep yep.

A Villa Straylight.
The only people aggressively against the South are non-AAs as predicted. The South is a large region and depends on which part we are talking about. Gulf States? Hell no. Atlantic ones? Definitely.

#Ethnocentric
I just like the northeast tbh my mom's family is three gens here and my dad's fam was born in NYC. I hate places with too much space in between.

As someone that lives in New York (where all these people are coming from.) it's VERY Much white people heading to the Carolinas.
That shyt becoming New Staten Island before anything else.

Need to buy back the block and consolidate some of the immense black middle class buying power in Raleigh... it's there. trust me. A progressive crowdsourcing realestate venture is sorely needed in the areas on the periphery of dt Raleigh.

that's why I'm asking, what are negroes gonna do? Black folks are a part of the reason why the southeast leads the nation in population growth...now...

...how are you gonna turn the numbers into action?

this is happening and black folk are a part of it... need more than just numbers tho...

All this is true, it just trips me out that it took white people moving into these neighborhoods for them to actually improve the area. After all these years they just remodeled the Martin Luther King memorial Garden and built an actual youth center for it. Also it's not like complete gentrification. Cuz black folk are still holding it down but it's gotten very diverse....and it was very sudden

It's only getting worse.

Property values are out of control down there. Have you seen the complete glaring incongruity brought on by some of those new, gentrified houses?

You could literally see a 600k-800k, modern, new aged solar house next to an old shotgun house in disrepair, which might still be inhabited. Imagine walking out your door everyday and seeing the dangling of the ultimate American dream right in front of your face like it's mocking you.

Need to go to some of those housing meetings too if you aren't already...

The south still playing catchup, it'll take them 40 years to get their own northeast corridor:mjlol:

Having exponential growth ain't hard when you're so far behind

No disrespect to the south tho, but if they are trying to beat the north at the urbanization game they already lost.......a LONG time ago

I don't understand the tone behind this post... what point are you trying to prove. You do realize that the same way you prefer the northern way of living, there are a slew people who feel the same about the South?

You acting like you own major real estate up north the way you're cheerleading, lol. If you do though, keep cooking.

Yeah, I understand that people enjoy the southern lifestyle that's fine. But as I said if the comparison is urbanization between the two areas well the south really struggles to compete (bar MAYBE the Texas Triangle)

Urbanization in what regard though? Your comment has the underlying assumption that urbanization as it exists in northern United States is the "best version" of urbanization.

For example, I just came from Toronto and I'd prefer that city over any US northern metropolitan area I've been to. And quite honestly at face value, southern cities are closer (or at least have an easier path) to that product than northern cities, outside of the subway systems.

But with that said... you might prefer an NYC over a Toronto.... so there's that.

Urbanization in terms of:
Total population
Productivity
GDP
transport
Etc

More hard metrics than personal preference
