Their first-party games are straight. They can keep releasing Zelda, Mario, and whatever else, but what they need is better third party support for their consoles.

Nintendo and Atlus are keeping me full on the 3DS

What Atlus games have came out?

Fred.

You keep ignoring that the Wii U is selling like trash. Allowing these games to be played on that system would boost its sales because people like me would buy one. And like i said, either way Nintendo will get you to buy its system and game so i dont see the downside. Why should they care whether you buy the game on 3DS or Wii U?

why would you spend $299+ on a Wii U to play a game you could spend $130 or so to play on a 3DS?

the Playstation Portable systems had hard times selling games so the ports were made because plenty of people who already had a PS2 or PS3 would play those console style portable games on their home console and sales were anemic on the portable platform.

Nintendo is developing Wii U software so you'll go buy a Wii U. 3DS software isn't gonna move Wii U consoles if ported over it will simply cost them the 3DS sales of gamers who would have bought one with their Wii U and have both but now don't have to cause they can get it all on one platform.

Nintendo's curse is that they're almost too good. the quality of software they make for their audience third parties can't match it for the most part. sure you get a Capcom with Ace Attorney but third parties mostly don't know how to tap into the audience. when they put out games on the Nintendo platforms they mostly flop.

Nintendo gets their own audience. they're so in sync with them that the majority of them (me included) buy their systems just to play their games and that's the only reason we buy them.

i own a Wii U and a 3DS. some of what yall talking about porting those portable games over, if that would have happened i'd just own the Wii U and skip the 3DS that i bought only because it was the only way to play 3DS games.

Nintendo audience comes in two extremes that both lead to the same result. Core gamers who have the other systems and just buy Nintendo systems for the Nintendo gamers and the more causal gamers that only really care about the style of games Nintendo makes and have no real interest in other style games. both extremes lead to the situation where people that buy Nintendo consoles only really wanna play Nintendo style games.

its Nintendo's own fault. back when the Nintendo 64 came out and they refused to adopt CDs all the third parties left them and that situation also created the Playstation. the core gamers scattered to Microsoft and Sony in the end and some of us come back to Nintendo just for their games many more of us outright ignore Nintendo but i'd never buy a Call of Duty game on a Nintendo platform cause all the buddies play it on the Xbox or Playstation.

Nintendo will never again be the one box you can get it all on. in some respects their stubbornness and unwillingness to listen to others ruined their own brand at the same time strengthening it.

Because like i said, i dont want to play games on a 5 inch screen. Believe it or not, there are plenty of people like me around. Under no circumstance will i buy a DS or 3DS, i dont care if they drop to 50 bucks. The Wii U needs the help, im seeing reports that this month MS sold more standalone Kinect units than Nintendo sold Wii U's, thats embarrassing. You really think the DS library wouldnt move Wii U units? When the Wii U was announced it was a feature many gamers were praying for. Hell, even the GBA Castlevania games would have me purchasing a Wii U.

i'm willing to bet there are more people like me who are actually willing to buy a 3DS and play the games on it but would skip out on it if its games were available on the Wii U than people like you who were never gonna but a 3DS anyways even though you wanna play its games.

what you're talking about in the end would damage the 3DS and barely help the Wii U. playing portable games on a Wii U is an added bonus for people who were likely gonna buy one anyway not a system seller because at the end of the day you were never gonna buy a 3DS anyway and honestly the idea of you spending $299 on a Wii U with the deciding factor being because it plays 3DS games doesn't even sound right.
