I don't know if you're joking but the PSP did this and now the Vita does it
What major new releases have been made available when they were new on a portable that was current? Some God of War and Peace Walker got ported when they were old on the PSP in its dying days but that's about it.

why would they do that? no portable in the history of portables has ever in its actual life had its games put on a home console because that would ruin the draw of selling the portable.

It would increase the draw of buying a Wii U which sales are abysmal right now. There are plenty of people like me who will never buy a portable system but would buy those games if they were available on the home console. Im not a Japanese student or someone who takes the bus every morning and im not gonna sit in my house playing on a 5 inch screen.

Nintendo's 3DS and DS software shyts on the Wii U's and hell, its better than the Wii's too. Now that the console is using 2 screens it makes sense to port the games to both systems. They could sell so much software just porting over the DS library. Im sure all those 3rd parties who have older DS and 3DS would love to sell to an expanded audience.

Whether you buy the games on Wii U or 3DS either way Nintendo is getting paid.

The PSP had many more games than that which were ported to both PS2 and PS3. I don't have a complete list of them but some did come out at the same time. And Sony is currently releasing the same games on the PS3 and Vita with the Cross-buy promotion.

these games are obviously designed to be high profile 3DS titles. if you wanna wait for the maybe possible years later port that's on you but i wouldn't hold my breath.

these companies aren't looking to port high profile guaranteed selling first party games to a home console and cannibalize potential portable selling or at least influencing to buy one games.

in the case of Sony and its portables both of them were and are failures when it comes to selling games so yeah they'd move a portable game over eventually when its exhausted its run on the portable. why would Nintendo do that? people that want to play Nintendo games buy Nintendo systems to play them on.

Nintendo doesn't have Sony's problems. the people that wanna play these 3DS games will without a port.

You keep ignoring that the Wii U is selling like trash. Allowing these games to be played on that system would boost its sales because people like me would buy one. And like i said, either way Nintendo will get you to buy its system and game so i dont see the downside. Why should they care whether you buy the game on 3DS or Wii U?

I agree that Nintendo shouldn't port its games. I was just stating that Sony does indeed release the same game on multiple platforms.

Nintendo cares because they want you to buy both systems. Maybe you won't buy a handheld and a console but plenty of people will. They can release this top down Zelda for the 3DS which is selling well so it isn't desperate for games anymore. Then they can release a traditional 3D HD Zelda for the Wii and move units.

i dont know whether to be happy that they're releasing these games because they're almost always guaranteed to be great, or sad since its the millionth time we've seen these things. nintendo really needs some innovation...i miss the snes:ohlawd:

I don't care if they release the same games over and over as long as those games are innovative. That "Zelda" game doesn't look like any other game on the market, and the game play doesn't look like any "Zelda" before it.

Their first-party games are straight. They can keep releasing Zelda, Mario, and whatever else, but what they need is better third party support for their consoles.

Nintendo and Atlus are keeping me full on the 3DS
