The album was up and down, but that track. is amazing

that was one of the few records on that album that was good. i don't know wtf he was thinking with "rock that shyt", "ybe" and "do it". those beats sucked and on top of that, prodigy does NOT have the charisma to even make a record like that work. he was sounding extra tired on those records and the lp unfortunately. he was better off with the grimey records because he sounds better on those. pop records, hell no. prodigy was busy dissing jay-z talking about he makes pop music but turns around and puts that on his album.

lol, good thread, nothing to add, everything has been said, i wouldnt put the hell on earth and murda muzik on the same level though, i would give those albums a nine, and yeah mobb misses mixtape is a must

CNN war report, Illmatic, 36 chambers and Infamous are the alpha and omega of NYC public housing music

one of the best unreleased gems here, with some group ACD

Not in any order, but off the top of my head I feel these albums are better than any of Mobb's albums:

1. Illmatic
2. Ready to Die
3. 36 Chambers
4. Only Built 4 Cuban Linx
5. ATLiens
6. The Chronic
7. Doggystyle
8. Tical
9. It Was Written
10. Reasonable Doubt

Don't get me wrong, I fukk with Mobb Deep but just my opinion.

I don't even think Tical is better then Murda Muzik let alone The Infamous

I'd take OutKast's 3 album run over the Mobb's, but The Infamous is crack. I had to put my westcoast nikkas on to that album when we were kids. Tribe got an argument too with their 3 album run ending with Midnight Marauders.

tical is nowhere near murder music, or the infamous.
Subcrazy and tical the actual record are like the only records on tical that are untouchable.
The rest of record is just worthy of a good spin, if you are in the mood.
If the rest of the record was like tical the actual song or sub crazy.
It would have been an untouchable classic record for the Wu.
Nobody in the wu could fukk with meth when he is like how he is on tical, the actual record.
Personally, I feel the political track listing gamesmanship at defjam is why tical is so hit or miss.
meth had to be on defjam to spark the administrative business boom for solo artist in rap.
So, I know of the importance of meth on defjam signing.
Yet, meth would have easily made a classic lp before 421.
If he was on loud as a solo artist back then.
I also,...have no idea about when the Wu fire or was it a flood occurred.
So, that could also be why the meth record was so hit or miss.
Yet, I think it was more a defjam wants this type of thing.
Tical the lp is straight defjam paint by the numbers.

Back then, in that 93-95 period.
I think red was the only one as a debut artist for defjam, who had that epmd political pressure and deal to get the record he made wanted.

Whut thee album is a perfect classic album.
One of the few from defjam in that period .
Where you got exactly what you expected and then some release wise.
If meth and Wu as a group had an epmd type deal at defjam.
I think meth's tical would have been a classic, probably a perfect classic.

These are the only I could see being better than the infamous.

The others although given high marks are nowhere near the infamous.

We all have opinions. It's all good music. I'd honestly put a few more albums that I didn't list in front of Infamous (that list wasn't in order, except illmatic). I just named the first 10 that came to mind.

I would also put Illadelph Halflife, Do You Want More, Things Fall Apart ahead of it as well, along with a few others.

Just opinions.

no roots full length shyt is fukkin with the infamous.

the only record I will spin from those three, is only:

distortion to static

which is more about the video and how ill their first visuals were coming out of nowhere.
as a matter of fact,....
I have that vid downloaded, and don't fukk with them stargazing ass roots past that.
