you always hear conflicting stories .... did biggie want to stay in l.a abit longer or did puffy make him stay ... truth be told ... I think as soon as pac was dead either biggie or puffy were gona get it sooner or later ... if biggie wasn’t killed in 97 ... I just think biggie and puffy would have been killed anywhere from 97 -early 2000s when suge stil had clout .... it seemed like it was destined .... messed up situation... but for real they had no bizz in l.a so soon after pac and suge were out the way .....
would’ve been nice to hear Easy Mo Bee talk about how he felt doing “Going Back to Cali”, and what everyone’s frame of mind was at the time. The story is way too deep and way too layered to do in 90 minutes, but I agree they skipped over the whole "Life After Death" era, to the way his music shifted, to when and where he died, to the street politics, I realize that it was more about Big as a human and less an investigation of his death, but someone who didn't know wouldn't learn from this doc.
The way rap and Big's career went from grimy timbs and hoodies to Versace shirts on cigarette boat billowing in the Miami breeze, and million dollar Hype Williams videos, how he became larger than life, from 95 to 1997. Just the way his music and death loomed so heavy over my childhood, made me sad watching. They were iconic to me, but I didn't understand the humanity of a 24 year old being murdered when I was 12. Had a connection to Big's music since I used to listen to Only You" remix over and over in 1997/1997, and No Way Out and Life After Death were just alums that played until they were scratched beyond repair.
And, I kind of wish they would stop with the murder unsolved, just in general, everyone knows who did both of those.
I just don’t know what was going though biggie , puffy and junior mafias head at the time thinking it was a good idea to be out there ...... see to me .... puffy n snoop doing that Steve Harvey thing squashing beef on air and the radio stations giving them a false sense ov safety saying it’s all love .... they weren’t even using southside crips either cause they knew it was a bad look or feeling bold .....would’ve been nice to hear Easy Mo Bee talk about how he felt doing “Going Back to Cali”, and what everyone’s frame of mind was at the time.
RIP Shock GDamn Shock G said the same thing about Big and the jazz comparison

That whole interview is great. I’m not gonna post it cause this is a Biggie thread but the way he spoke about Pac in the court roomThat’s a great clip

how many times does biggie's mom have to pretend to be shocked every time a documentary comes around that she was told her son was selling crack?
