Imagine if adding on to of the fact that content providers have to pay ISPs, the ISP charge the consumer a fee to access such content on their end as well. FCC won't do shyt about it neither. This is about to open the floodgates.

maybe im not understanding something.. netflix currently accounts for like 30% of all internet usage.. more than https... or youtube or anything... whats the issue with them paying the server owners to maintain this usage, at an acceptable speed?

You're in the Arcadium, logic is :camby:

The probem with this logic is, presumably the people are already paying comcast for their service. Comcast is double-dipping and getting paid twice for selling the same product. Put it like this, if those same people were not on netflix but browsing something else during that time, how different would it effect comcast?

Also it's a slippery slope. Now websites can pay ISPs to make their website faster than other sites.
So a person should pay the same amount for electricity because he's paying anyway. He shouldn't be charged more for running 10 acs a washer dryer , microwaving a turkey all at the same time? Be lucky they not charging the users extra, they charging the service extra. Bottom line if you already have Internet what exactly do you need shytflix for? Its a big thread talking bout cut cable but y'all use the extra shytty Netflix and that same content is available on the web.

The problem with you're two comparisons is electricity is charge per use so ppl know before they use something that they will be charged for it. Internet on the otherhand is monthly and the thought it you can use as much of the internet within that month as you want. In your same example, why isn't comcast then reimbursing those ppl who pay monthly fees and hardly use it? If they want to make internet a usage fee, then do that.

Netflix is a convenience, stop thinking the common public thinks like you because they don't. There's a small percentage of ppl that care to use torrents, and streaming sites and all that. Those are hassles that most ppl would rather not go through. Why do that when you can pay $7 a month and just have whatever you want to watch a click away?

shyt like this could lead to the death of the internet in its current form. It's messed up to allow these ISPs to throttle traffic, etc.
It's frustrating to see things like this happen. I feel like the general public is'nt understanding how things like this are gonna affect the world as we know it going forward.

This is a very slippery slope....where is the FCC? We just had an issue in the Finance world where a lack of regulation led to all manner of fukkery. Now this???
