I think a lot of y'all are arguing different topics.
Kaep wanted a job in the NFL. He wanted to keep his job, and be able to protest. He was blackballed because of the backlash from his protesting. He wanted to prove that he doesn't have a job because he was blackballed, and not because he couldn't play - The suit.
*He did lose his starting job prior to that, and that's a fair argument, HOWEVER, he was also kneeling for months without repercussion, before there was a spotlight on him.
Boycott was a result of Kaep not being able to play for a team. People wanted him to play (most didn't know of his benched status prior to, but that's irrelevant). But people wanted to see him in the game...some backed him because solely off his perceived stance on social issues, some backed him because he was still better than some other QBs in the league. But they wanted him on the field.
The teams won't pick him up because, for the owners, the noise (and money) not to see Kaep on the field was louder than those pro-Kaep.
NFL got backlash from Pro-Kaep for not getting behind him. That's fine. They did what Big Corps do. At this point, he's an albatross, and they can't force teams to sign him. They can take a stance pro-Kaep, or not care (like Vick). Hell, the power players didn't say ish either.
These are all separate things though. There are 4 different viewpoints. No one here is in the wrong, and no one here is obligated to anyone. I think that everyone should understand that.
The collusion comes when the owners got together (allegedly) and decided that Kaep would no longer be in the league. That's the blackball.
I think some of the people on some "boycott the NFL", were misinformed not understanding that the purpose was to just get Kaep on a team. He just wants to play football.
Now Jay-Z once again is another that doesn't owe any one here ish. BUT he came out implying that he was in support of Kaep, and the social issues. Mind you, Kaep and the social issues Kaep knees for, are completely separate. I assume that means playing in the NFL, which is what Kaep wanted/wants. So because Owners got together and blackballed him, he's anti-NFL (Owners) because of Kaep. That's fine.
But now he's doing business with them, once again that's fine, BUT in the name of Kaep and social injustice. That's where it gets foul. That means he rode the wave, and is definitely being used as a proxy IF those are the reasons why. Keep Kaep's name out of it. He's no longer in the league, nor will he ever be. What he once took the knee for, and the movement he got behind, are no longer linked to the NFL. Once again, he doesn't owe Kaep or the NFL anything. He has the right to do whatever he deems best for his livelihood. But don't switch it up, then double talk like no one sees through it. IF that was the case, why not get your billionaire friends to put some power, dollars and influence behind Kaep's current movement?
You CAN support the NFL (watch, attend games etc) AND you can support Kaep and/or his cause.
You can support the NFL, and not support Kaep, and/or his cause.
You can support Kaep and/or his cause, and not support the NFL
You can support Kaep and his cause, and say fukk the NFL because of how they treated Kaep.
You can Support the NFL, the cause, and not support Kaep.
You can't say "fukk the NFL" because of Kaep AND his cause, and then be in bed with the NFL, all in the name of the cause. How does that make any sense? Now you just shytted on everything you claimed to stand for a few months prior. And you once tried to stop others from doing the same, in the name of the cause. You can easily separate them from each other, and there's no issue.
