AF1's were never made for running and are barely good on the court so that's not even a valid comparison. Air Max light were... all the info being regurgitated in here comes from the elitism in the running world. A lot of these other companies crutch on the whole idea that they are the professional standard but pro athletes train in whatever they find suitable. I used to outfit NBA brehs and NHL brehs... I have packaged kits for olympic athletes. I did workshops on running twice a week. we had a gait analysis scanner on sight. This was in the mid 2000's (:flabbynsick:)

This was all done primarily because at the time like most of this thread people had got comfortable passing around bad info that is standardized in the industry. I did knowledge sessions at product launches speaking to media... If it were not for nike forcing a lot of these other companies to innovate they would have been selling you the same shoes for an eternity lol. this whole idea that shoes can't look good and be highly functional is not congruent... it is a byproduct of close minded elitism in the running world. stop falling for the bullshyt.

That’s fair enough but I also have indirect information and knowledge directly from athletes and specifically runners and weight lifters who use different shoes for performance reasons.

I also used to be in the trainer industry in the 2000s and also have industry knowledge which is in support of what I’m saying.

It just seems like you have something against performance shoes and are just saying all trainers are the same and I’d call that bullshyt information.

OP can use AM1’s and see how they are and how long they last, it’s up to him but the thread is about knowledge and advice and a lot of posters have given theirs.

If you want something light and stylish to go with joggers, I’d go for some Nike React Element 55’s. I’m a huge air Max fan, but I’d avoid them for the reasons listed above as well as the fact that the soles on the heel is very thin under the air bubbles and wear out quickly. I got these and have been very satisfied with their comfort.

Those aren’t for running either.

most real runners aren’t going to be very stylish. That’s why Nike classify all air max as lifestyle shoes

If your partial to Nike, I think Pegasus is their best looking running shoe.

You look like a goober if you wear running shoes when your just kicking it.

Good running shoes from notable brands are Saucony, New Balance, Karhu, Brooks, ASICS, Hoka One One....there is a reason why these brands are the top runners and it has nothing to do with elitism....Yes Nike makes some stylish shoes but LOL @ running in them....at the end of the day its all about preference but I would go with any of those labels above over a pair of Nikes for running....

no i have something against industry the b.s. and you are all over the place breh. talking about trainers and runners and ball shoes... :dwillhuh:

the conversation is about running shoes..

how long a shoe will last is determined by build quality and usage, you not making sense.

Reading the tone of OP's post his pick is appropriate. He doesn't sound like he's about to do anything but casual walking. no need for "professional" shoes whatever that b.s. is :skip:

nikkaz singing along to that old industry b.s. word for word, they got it down to a song. Nike is not professional but professionals wear nike... :deadrose:

Bruh Brooks has a run club as well and so do alot of these other brands.....that doesn't mean anything....:mjlol:....Brooks probably makes the best running shoes and they stay in business because there product is A1....when you look at marathons look down and you will hardly see any Nikes....there's a reason why....

I brought up AF1's with a notation of "(for example)", which means I am not directly referring to the OPs original choice. And yes, that is my whole point = depending on the type of shoe, it will break down faster if nothing used for the required purpose e.g. my weightlifting shoes are not my walking/running shoes due to comfort and durability.

Trainers = athletic shoes, I'm British.

OP you have your options anyway, I walk a bout 5 to 7 miles a day and found my AM1's, 720's and a few others modern Nike Air Max's were not as good as some ASICS due to arch and flat feet, my hiking shoes are bad for flat track and tarmac. Nike Spiridon's are cool though.

because you not looking at the finish line... :skip: I call olympians professionals not the neighbourhood runners who have birthed this elitism. y'all can argue till you get blue but look at the highest professional events in the world and who's finishing the runs and who's sponsoring them. same with olympians. they wear their sponsors during training it's not just "fashion" that IS B.S.

Each spring thousands of elite runners hit the pavement in Boston, aiming to win, get a personal best, or just take a victory lap after a successful running year (after all, this is one of a handful of marathons in the country that have competitive cut-off times). As with all running, the gear is minimal — with little more than singlets, short shorts, and a watch. Then there are the shoes. The most important piece of gear among athletes is one of the most diverse. You’ll find everything from thick, supportive soles to ultra-minimal racing flats on the feet of participants. But what do the pros — and more importantly, winners — wear?:ohhh:

RELATED: Everything to Pack for a Marathon

From Meb Keflezighi (2014) to Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot (’03, ’06, ’07, ’08), we looked over the shoes of the past winners to see what secrets the elites hold in their choice. From the past 12 years, Nike was the clear big winner (with seven of the 12 wearing the Swoosh), Adidas was in a distant second with two, and one-off winners include New Balance, Fila, and Skechers. While all the shoes were fairly minimal, they also came with enough padding to make it through 26.2 miles of hard pounding. Still, the main thing this footwear had in common was that they were attached to pros who put in serious, hard miles, all year long.

y'all boring me with that old mythic nonsense :russell:
