I am not the biggest fan of the idea but I get why they are doing it. Guys did compete
. It was a cool thing for the regular season. However having no connection to the real playoffs just makes it random. If you really wanna make it meaningful to the teams with championship aspirations add something that counts towards the playoffs. Automatic home court regardless of seeding...automatic tie breaker for everything...something.

How does the IST have more pop to their courts than the fukking Finals?
They can put that bullshyt trophy on the courts for IST but not THE trophy for the Finals?

I agree. I feel like a playoff spot is too much considering how nikkas already dont take the regular season seriously. And the whole point is to give it more juice. I suggested that it should count as extra wins last year. You actually win 50 games but when it comes to playoff seeding they treat you like you won 55. So you get that playoff boost but you cant just

shyt that would make teams in that conference take the regular season more serious being a spot is taken. So imagine a team like Utah winning the Tournament. The west gonna be more of a bloodbath. A non playoff team type is the only incentive for me to care if i know my team aint shyt.I agree. Interesting counter. Didnt think about that. But you still have the play in and if we being honest no true contender is gonna be on the verge of missing the playoffs most years. The other side is a team like the Clippers or 6ers winning and putting Kawhi or Embiid on ice until the playoffs. You look at how unseriously some teams have taken the regular season without being guaranteed a playoff spot.
But that said, they gotta figure out something.
