Kendrick music is boring AF

Cole shyt ain’t far behind

I said this many times I hate the fact I got to say Drake is better. Jay Z made me Stan Memphis Bleek. So I always thought would I like his music without the association with Hov? But I guess I really did like Bleek music (still bump it)because I tried to stan Cole off the co-sign, but dude music is like watching paint dry. Even Jay don’t fukk with his music.

Drake is like a Librarian of music, he flat out know how to make songs and can dip in and out of many genres where as Cole, Kendrick’s are rappers as with most rappers and can only stay in one lane

The same group of nikkas who didn't even know who Outkast was? They don't validate shyt. Everytime I've ever heard one of those young nikkas give what they like to listen to, it's almost always whoever is on the radio at that exact time. Them nikkas don't listen to music forreal. It's like asking a female the same question

Why should they know about OutKast? That’s like asking nikkas from the late 90s Jay-Z DMX era about Gamble and Huff and Stax records... OutKast started before these nikkas were even born

Most athletes I know listen to a lot of music. They in the gym working out to new music everyday. Just because they don’t like what you like doesn’t mean surface level high energy music is trash.

Kendrick Lamar has turned into a artsy fartsy kinda artist and that’s perfectly fine for him, but if y’all think 19-20 year old nikkas bout to sit still long enough to break down multi leveled lyrics with jazz fusion funk beats you not being realistic.

Drake is the biggest rap artist out, he's the Raptors team ambassador, he's around the NBA and NBA culture all the time
J. Cole is a hooper, and he's in with the young crowd and college kids since he came out... a video just dropped with bruh getting buckets in a pickup game with NBA players
Kendrick has ties to a few players, but that's it, he isn't some superfan/groupie like Drake, he comes off as unathletic and short, and the other 2's music clearly resonates more with NBA players

This isn't surprising in the least

Not really following your logic here as Outkast is the same genre. Gamble and Huff aren't.

And most people my age knew older acts from other genres just based on sampling.

can see it why it was an easy pick for them though and I don't fukk with Cole. I got plenty of posts stating so

I honestly can't remember the last time I looked forward to hearing Kendrick rap.
I can't remember the last time I felt the need to go out of my way and put Kendrick on. he's been away and I haven't missed him.

Fine it’s like expecting late 90s 19 year olds to know about about Marley Mal and Whoudini...

In disco times young nikkas wasn’t worried about the 60s groups... new jack swing nikkas wasn’t worried about bell bottoms and so on and so on. Let the young nikkas have they on things and quit worrying why they not into shyt that their parents were into.

Kendrick is dope but he hasn’t made a young nikka friendly album since 2012... when these dudes were in the 7th grade.

I was 19 in 1995 and knew who that was though. :mjlol:

You're acting like Marley Marl didn't give RZA his first production equipment. So yeah, there was over lap between the two generations.

These kids are into the same shyt their parents were into. Hip-hop has been around 40 years. You keep comparing different genres of music (60's music and disco, new jack swing and the 70's) which don't fit here.

These kids most likely chose Kendrick because he hasn't dropped an album in 2-3 years. It's as simple as that. Like @cartierhoe pointed out Zion is familiar with older shyt. So nah, it's not what you're talking about.
