People at odds with the non-penalized plays don't get it. There is a difference between slightly embellishing contact and COMPLETELY MAKING UP CONTACT OR PUTTING ON A PERFORMANCE

Selling calls is just apart of basketball. Foye was trying to take a legitimate charge in the post, Caron did get his arm pulled but he exagerrated it, and Brewer was trying to take a charge in the post.

CP3's sell of the call was ridiculously exaggerated, and the rest were either the same or totally made up.

There's a difference between selling contact and making up contact. That's what they're trying to establish, now of course, it's going to be incredibly grey as far as what do you define as either, but it seems to me that's where they're going with it.

How can they say somebody is making up contact when alot of the plays they showed that are gonna be penalized are legit foul calls? Look at that Tony Parker play for example. He was clearly fouled and knocked off balance by a nikka thats like 100 pounds bigger then him and they call that flop?

Even though this rule ain't gonna affect the game at all its all subjective and should be left strictly on the refs to make the right call

They want to stop the bullshyt like Parker did AFTER the fact.

Notice how I said that they either made up the contact OR put on an extremely exaggerated performance

They want people to just play and stop deceiving officials. The Perkins call was fine if he had just sold it, but he decided to flail and flop around like he was on fire.

I agree that it's subjective, but the reality is that the NBA needs to do something to appease a fan base that already despises the officials for corruption and incompetence.

But again, consider the incredible effort Parker went for as compared to the Brewer, Foye, or Caron butler plays. THey just kept playing or didn't go crazy, Parker went a little overboard with it.

I know he called it a foul and thats my point. Tony Parker was fouled and it didn't look like a overeaction at all. IMO something should only be considered a flop when a player does something to try to get a call in they favor that aint there, not on a legit foul call

Exactly....... I was with the video up until they went to the "plays that won't be penalized", because those were still flops! :yeshrug:

it was very difficult to tell if they were flops or not. The penalized shyt was :scusthov:

Basically, if we can watch the replay and see you're clearly exaggerating beyond what was done...you getting penalized. If you do something as a reasonable reaction (ie. your response can be seen as legitimate even it's not a necessary one) then you're good. No more selling moves like wrestlers

The Parker play was the most "in the grey area" of the flops, and when it comes down to it I doubt they'll actually be fining those plays. Though Parker's reaction was ridiculous.

It really didnt look like he was overreacting to me and I don't see why he would have when the foul was already called. If anything it looked like he knocked was off balance and tryin to show he was shooting the ball. Thats why I think flopping should be limited to things that aint fouls
