Danny Manning - 13.5 PPG on 52% shooting, 5.6 RPG, 2 APG, PER - 19.8

Kobe - 15.4 on 43% shooting, 3.1 RPG, 2.5 APG, PER - 18.5

Why should Kobe have won the '98 6th man over an established vet who had a better season?

Other then shooting.. does Kobe do ANYTHING better then Bron? :wtf:

After Bron wraps up a title this year, hes going above Kobe on my all time list. :takedat:

kobe has better more sexier fadeaway
kobe can make pump fakes look pretty
kobe glides in the air better

thats all i can think off

bron only needs 1 ring to pass kobe

lets not even talk about the numbers :rudy:

Kobe should've won MVP in 2006 and '07. Yeah I know 50 wins, etc. but still.
Kobe probably should've won that 6thMOTY in '98 too.
If that had happened, CP3 would've won in 2008.
Shaq should've won in '05 and probably '01 as well as '00.
LeBron probably could've won 4 straight MVPs from '09-'12 had he not botched the move to Miami.
LO was an AS in '11 and Josh Smith in '12. Hating on those 6'10" left handers brehs.

I be trying to tell people this....

Its simple, players that shoulda won an award like MVP, Rookie Of the Year, etc. but were robbed or shoulda won it. Also, players that should have made an all star game but were robbed.
-Melo should have won the 2004 Rookie Of The Year, not Lebron.
-Lamar Odom should have made the 2011 All Star Game.
-Durant shoulda won Most Improved Player of the Year in 2010.
-Even as a Kobe stan, CP3 should have been 2008 MVP, but it would have been a real life tragedy had Kobe retired without an MVP so he deserved it.
-Kevin Martin shoulda won Most Improved Player in 2007 instead of Monta Ellis.
-AK47 should have won Defensive Player Of the Year in 2006, not Ben Wallace.
-Yao Ming shoud have won Rookie of the Year in 2003 instead of STAT.
Add on and discuss.

Some of that I could see, but Yao or Amare could've went either way.Their rookie stats were Identical with Amare having a slight edge in rebounding.

Considering that Amare only played 2 years of high school ball, I think what he did was more impressive.Yao had already been playing professional, organized ball for years

Yao's best game in his rookie year was 30 points 16 rebs against Dallas.

Amare's best game in his rookie year was 38 points 14 rebs against a prime KG and Minnesota.

I believe Yao was a bigger media/maketing sensation and people expected him to win on exposure alone.

I remember when some guy asked Kobe who he thought should be rookie of the year that year.

The guy mentioned Yao and Kobe gave him the:childplease:and said Amare should definitely win it.

It's amazing that Amare won it that year considering all the Yao hype.

It felt kinda like Blake Griffin in the Slam Dunk Competition last year. You knew they were just setting it up for him to win it.

NOBODY can make a credible argument that Shaq's college CAREER was better than Laettner's college CAREER. Sure, everyone knew Shaq would be the better pro player, but that's a different subject.

Also, I'm sure the fact that Laettner finished four years while Shaq was finishing his third had something to do with it.

And it didn't matter who else was on the team. They weren't worried about that. It's not like they were thinking, "Damn, Shaq or Laettner? We might need one of these guys when we play against Germany"... they didn't actually NEED either player. Shaq would have had to sit his ass on the bench like Laettner did, and that would have been something else he would bytch about later on.

yea Amare was that dude in his rookie year. I remember that 3 he made to tie in the 2003 playoffs against the Spurs in the 4th quarter, which led to that crazy 3 that Marbury made to tie had me  in overtime was crazy. But, yea Yao did have more hype, but I remember the hate that he got from Barkley always hating on him was funny as fukk. lol But I though they woulda gone with Yao because his team had the better record, but I'm cool with Amare getting it though, but I just thought at the time Yao effected the game more when he was playing and I thought he was gonna be a bust on some Shawn Bradley type sh!t really, but I was hella surprised at how skilled he was. But I'm cool with Amare getting it instead though.
