Paul is a goofy but even a broken clock is right twice a day. I think he hit the nail on the head. Old people that need a partner to look after them, and lower income folks that need a partner to survive in this economy benefit the most from marriage. For any other man, you're taking a serious risk, and in many cases the downsides far outweigh the positives.
He's right but most people are poor enough where a partner makes sense, want to raise kids in a two parent home, or will get old someday. (Unless you're going to wait until you're old to find a caregiver, i mean wife)
I'd say he's right for the 1%ers or maybe 10%ers and his logic appeals to people who view themselves that way.
