NBA 2K23 (September 9th release)

I been saying for years. If they would let you pick a team in the 2000s, 2010s, 90s, 80s, 70s. 60s, 50s and play a full season (and playoffs) against the teams of those decades with the real rosters.

I would go back to buying the game.

But most likely knowing 2K they gonna short change and only let you play with a couple specific teams in an era and you can't play a full schedule and playoffs against teams in that era.

Nah from what I’m understanding, it’s a legit thing..you pick an era, pick any team and play in that era. You can join/try to beat Bird & Magic, or tank and draft MJ. For the MJ era you can pick any team, meaning you can pick the Bulls and try to run off 8 straight or pick any team to prevent their dynasty. They’re doing the Shaq draft for that era, so theoretically you can have the Bulls, tank and draft Shaq to pair with MJ & Pipp. Same with the Kobe era (they’re starting that one off with the 03 draft, so you can draft Bron, Wade, Melo etc) & then the modern era.

Teams will have their uniforms and courts from whatever era you choose, and the correct teams will be in whatever era you pick..expansion teams (Heat, Hornets/Bobcats, Pelicans,Grizzles, Raptors, etc) won’t be available till the actual year they joined the league.

There is a Kobe Era

What was his era? Rip Kob but I feel like they just doing a “Kobe era” to capitalize of his passing..he wasn’t the main guy in the 3 peat, but he was for the 2 peat & even then it’s only a 2-3 year era. Tim Duncan and Bron have more of a claim for an “era”.

2003 - 2nd round exit
2004 - Finals
2005 - Missed playoffs
2006-07 - 2 years leading the league in scoring
2008 - Finals and MVP
2009-10 - 2 Championships and Finals MVP

Actually, the Charlotte Hornets became the New Orleans/OKC Hornets, then eventually the New Orleans Pelicans.

The Charlotte Bobcats were an expansion team who eventually changed their name back to the Hornets.

I don't mind buying this yearly because more than any other game, this game actually educates. My son has learned so much about the history of the NBA through this game because they have basically everyone noteworthy in here. Save for Reggie Miller and Charles Barkley, everyone is here. I'm getting the Championship Edition for this. I'm as excited for this as I was 2K11.
