Passing is the only thing stopping the game froom being 10/10

no its not. passing is one of the BIGGER reasons its not a 8 out of 10. and no i dont compare it to anything. except for what a hoop game SHOULD and COULD BE.

its actually a 6.5 out of 10. 10 being the perfect hoop game.

the game looks great when watching a video. why? because the entire game is based on animations and what these players would do in those situations. vs basing it on What the user does with those players in each situation. there's a huge difference between the two things i just said.

2k is an animations war when you play it. the better you are at knowing what to do in order to trigger certain animations on offense and from the defender/vice versa. the easier the game is for you to beat the cpu and other people.

that right there isnt basketball at all. and thats the biggest problem with 2k and any other hoop game that has been out.

and lets not talk about the servers.

2k10 really did have the best soundtrack.

Miike Snow - Black and Blue - YouTube

Illinois - Hang On - YouTube

Metronomy - Radio Ladio - YouTube

MGMT - Electric Feel - YouTube

I can't forget the times I was sitting there in fantasy draft with my friends thinking of the player I was going to pick next and having these tracks sneak up on you.

Electric Feel is on my iPod right now thanks to the 2k10 soundtrack. Classic track.

Use to instantly be :mj: when the beat started.

No homo but I wanna hug you for this post...this is EXACTLY the problem and has been for recent years. Even when they say they are giving more control to the player every year...its STILL too animation based. All because most people in these forums cry every year about how realistic things have to look. They pour in all these animations chasing the dream to please all this people with their taste on how it should LOOK. I'm more concerned on how it plays relative to REAL basketball and real strategies. If I have to sacrifice how some animations look...so be it...just give me the game I've been hoping for every year gameplay wise.

The person that knows how to trigger certain animations at the right time is the best player.

But I will say passing is a huge problem. You can't even play this game the way you would play in real life. You see a player with a open lane ready to cut to the basket? 90% of those situations you don't even hit the cutter because you KNOW the game won't allow it.

But yea ..after like 5 years I'm waiting on that great user control they've been promising every year. 2k12 I seen a SMALL improvement...mainly towards jumpshots...it ain't enough though.

:heh:.. i guess i'm the only dude who instantly goes in and turns off all the god damn music.

i dont seee why music is such a big deal. i just open up the dashboard on xbox and stream whatever songs I want from my computer:stylin::dj2:

i havent even heard all the default songs yet because of this

also i think in general, the chase for perfect animations ruined sports games and taht's why some games this generation aren't even close to last gen's games GAMEPLAY WISE

:damn: why is this so hard?

*taps shot stick at top of the key while holding turbo*
*watches my player do a spin move into two defenders and throw up a contested layup*
^^anybody ever seen that animation? its like 5 seconds long and you dont control any of it! :damn:
