I don't know what the fukk you all are talking about. The defense is WAY better than it has been. You have to use L trigger, turbo and the right stick. I've been beating most people because I know how to play D. I've gotten way more blocks then I ever did in any other 2k.
its obvious that you don't do shyt but cheese the 3pt shot is automatic on this game as it is. The game before the first patch was nothing like this they got rid of bump detection completely
I don't need to cheese, I just take whats open and play better defense. I've been down plenty of games but my defense always brings me back. I almost lost today by some dude using the knicks, I was down like 10 and came back to win. He had a crazy record like me too.
if someone gets by you, use help defenders or just use a zone and outscore them. 3pt isn't automatic if you actually contest the shot. Better to give up a jumpshot then layups and dunks

the 3pt shot is automatic, if you're playing with a guy with handles all you have to do is go to the left/right of the top of the key and release a 3. the defense usually does the stupid ass ankles broken animation and struggles to even get anywhere near the shot. same for corner jumpers, i had bum ass nikkas like marvin williams hitting 8 treys last night with nikkas in his face 
. not to mention guarding 1s with speed is damn near impossible with the various animation issues.
