Defense branch men get done like this over and over again. Why? When you're young, and your life is at risk because of your job, you're more likely to commit to the first woman that agrees to go out with you.

This man reacted the way I'd expect a teenager to. His brain and emotions were not ready for the grown man responsibilities of fatherhood, marriage, and home ownership. Any man who gets married before 30 is taking a huge risk with women who are in their 20s and are on social media and familiar with dating apps. Those kind of women can't have stable relationships. An ex boyfriend or former friends with benefits stay on her social media pages liking her pics and commenting. While dude is off on duty, she looks at herself in the mirror post-pregnanct stretch marks and all. She feels bad about how she looks, can't easily access you for compliments and even if she did, you're her husband. Of course you'll tell her whatever she wants to hear. It's like her mom telling her she's cool, it doesn't mean anything to her. So then she gets curious and thinks about her days of being single in college before she met her man.

She opens up an app just to see if she can still attract male attention. She can. She feels a rush of validation, then posts a new pic on social media. The men she used to mess with comment and DM her. Eventually she reaches her breaking point and messages one of them back.

Well he's active duty so there was a big chance his wife probably got fukked by another sailor or Marine or civilian so he was probably trying to beat it to the punch. Not excusing his behavior though. Should have just filed for divorce. Now he's going to spend the rest of his life in prison and their son will grow up without a father and mother.

Best advice I got when I got to MCT was to NEVER GET MARRIED while serving. It's almost a guarantee that your spouse will cheat on you.

If you're in the military just don't do it. Don't commit until you're done in the service. That uniform attracts predators who don't value their men. They see them as tricks.

I have two friends who aren't in the service but are going to get married to the only women who ever agreed to go out with them and they seem miserable whenever they talk about their relationships. Their self esteem and self worth is so low they can't bring themselves to go back to the days of being 'unwanted'

Just smash with protection and keep it moving. Some of these dudes marry so they can get more benefits as a lower enlisted. A lot of guys are kids (18/19) who fall in love with these chicks they meet in the towns close to bases. One guy that I served with married a bartender he met a strip club. He was 19 and she was 24 with two kids already! They're actually still married and they have a total of six kids now. When I served, I was a little older than most of the people so I had more life experience (had my own place, car, girlfriends, etc) and I had a lot of family and friends who also served so they gave me a heads up on what to do and not to do.
