There's the European Hispanics, which are people originally from Spain and look Caucasian, and then there are the Hispanics who were here from the start, like the Aztecs. So, it's a big mix over there unless you are 100% Aztec or something. You know, the kind that drive a Toyota Corolla with a big-azz 60" wing spoiler.
there are actually 4 groups.
1.the Spaniards/euros that came thru and left some behind. so these people are technically 100% spaniard/euro blood.
2.the native mexicans who were in mexico before any euros touched down(like the aztecs, mayans/blackfoot etc) and those that are still in mexico and have never been mixed blood with any one else.
3. #1 and #2 procreated= mixed kids.. native mexicans mixed with spanish/euro blood= a lot of the so called MEXICANS we know and see today in the southern parts of america.
#4 and or #5 , native mexicans + africans +spanish(euros) or spanish + africans.
those are all MEXICANS.
and just in case you dont believe in black mexicans
Afro-Mexicans are an ethnic group which exists in certain parts of Mexico such as the Costa Chica of Oaxaca and Guerrero, Veracruz and in some towns in northern Mexico. The existence of blacks in Mexico is unknown, denied or diminished in both Mexico and abroad for a number of reasons: their small numbers, heavy intermarriage with other ethnic groups and Mexicos tradition of defining itself as a mestizaje or mixing of European and indigenous. Mexico did have an active slave trade since the early colonial period but from the beginning, intermarriage and mixed race offspring created an elaborate caste system. This system broke down in the very late colonial period and after Independence the legal notion of race was eliminated. The creation of a national Mexican identity, especially after the Mexican Revolution, emphasized Mexicos indigenous and European past actively or passively eliminating its African one from popular consciousness.
