A lake near Tampa FL
Years ago after visiting family in Raleigh, we drove down I-40 East to Wilmington NC, it wasn't that long of a drive, only like an hour and a half or so.

Ate at an Wendy's in Wilmington and the employees were friendly like it was Chick Fill A or something :pachaha: As a new yorker it was crazy coming across friendly fast food workers :heh:

This little sub discussion about distances from Nashville & Raleigh to the beach reminded me of that :yeshrug:

Nashville is only a few hours from the ocean and the Great Lakes. If you drive due East or due South you would hit the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic Ocean. If you drive due North you will hit the Great Lakes, which are not even lakes to begin with; they are actually massive inland seas. On top of that Tennessee has massive rivers, including the Tennessee, Ohio and Mississippi.

Raleigh is in the middle of North Carolina. It is almost a 3 hours drive from Raleigh to the ocean.
That’s why I live where I live 40min drive I’m on the beach

Don't backtrack now :heh:. "With Raleigh, its 3 hours to the beach. Meanwhile, landlocked Tennessee is a just quick 500 mile hop skip and jump." GTFOH breh.
:dahell:

Backtrack? You literally wrote some crap that I literally didn't write.

The premise of a beach is a goofy reason to not pick a city, especially if the other city being compared to that city is not on the beach either. Hell Mississippi is not landlocked and there are beaches there, but who in the Hell wants to live in Mississippi.

SMF and LAX to VA and NC
Raleigh has a more diverse culture than Nashville, is prettier than Nashville, and does everything Nashville does well except entertainment and nightlife, which is easily the biggest advantage Nashville has...

Other than that, give me Raleigh every single time...
