The most unintentionally hilarious stanbase outdoes itself yet again. Best aspect of this is the enthusiasm for this project is an oblique confession that deep down they know how lackluster so many of Nas' other joints have been. Dudes listened to a Coney Island CAC and were tripping over themselves to cement Nas' supposed GOAT status because he finally made a "pure" hip hop album again. Droog with an unparalleled troll job.

that's already been posted, and doesn't prove anything. it doesn't name any names, it's just some dude from cacplex saying he's met droog.

I'm not sure why cats are using these random tweets, dead links, and ambiguous blog posts as some sort of evidence. It could very well be an impersonator, but Complex didn't provide any real information.

Didn't Complex or one of those other sites claim that a surprise artist was dropping new material or something, I might be mistaken.

:ohhh:

breh this project is like some European team beating the US in Olympic basketball. nikkas gotta be on alert.

Not really though. I played the project twice, and it didn't hold up well on second listen. His flow, rhyme patterns, and concepts are obvious bites of Nas and Doom combined. He's the rap version of a really great cover band.

After doing a little investigating around the web I've settled on....

He is a former Joe Budden TV forum member who went by the names Oebediah Plinco,
GrandmaOnDrums, G.O.D, Imaginary Droog, and now Your Old Droog.

Aesop Rock tweeted a Vimeo video link to a Droog video which was then quickly deleted off Vimeo. Sounds like this guy is doing whatever he can to keep his identity unknown to the public. From what I can gather his YouTube freestyle videos never actually featured him physically.

100% sure this is not Nas. Still...what a strange story.

shyt wasn't even that good like that. Like 3-4 decent songs that still had some offbeat as fukk rhymes. Never thought it was nas, but honestly I'm relieved it's not him bc that shyt was ehh at best.
