I found it quite ironic that Jay was calling out Nas's supposed contradictions on "Blueprint 2", but was out here with two singles aimed at females ("Excuse Me Miss" and "'03 Bonnie & Clyde") on the same album as this:

https://genius.com/Jay-z-bytches-and-sisters-lyrics

And then threw this in the song for measure:

Say Jay-Z, why you gotta go and disrespect the women for, huh?

^^^ all because Nas said "you only concerned with dissing women" on "Ether". Jay was out here doing mental gymnastics for damage control. Surprisingly, Jay didn't called out for it during that era. One minute Jay's simping in elevators for women, the next he's dissing them on the same album. Is it Iceberg Slim or Shawn Carter?
the entire blueprint 2 is jayz replying to ether and he still lost lol
i remember in one song, he randomly said "young cause im 32"
because nas said he 36 taking taebo classes:dead:

Are you serious? Lol. If you would have said the whole crowd was dancing to it I could kinda sorta see that, but singing along? That's crazy, that jawn wasn't a hit like that. Was this a hip hop carnival or sumn?

i never heard people saying they didn't like this song in public when i was younger, i would be out and about and this song use to knock- at parties, clubs etc. only when i started going on forums is where i would read it getting bashed.

definitely playing ball when dudes would be getting locked up while on offense or defense, we use to sing that "i got them shackles on your feet", cats would be ready to fight on the court.

if you wasn't breaking your defender down, you could get ready to hear somebody singing it. you had about 5 seconds to get past that defender or it was on lol

i always loved that beat by timbaland but it never fit nas but it was fire. also that you won't see me tonight was fire too
