"Oh Timbalaaaand, you owe me!"

Always found that part funny, it just sounds like a sneak diss. Ghostface did something similar on Triumph after MK's verse "yo fukk that".

Great track, probably would have made a better Ginuwine single though.

Why people act like this wasn't a hit played everywhere?

Because Nas is only supposed to spit on grimey NY style beats and that narrative must be pushed at all costs. Anything he's done outside of that especially if it was commercial is automatically considered wack before one note of the song is heard.

I found it quite ironic that Jay was calling out Nas's supposed contradictions on "Blueprint 2", but was out here with two singles aimed at females ("Excuse Me Miss" and "'03 Bonnie & Clyde") on the same album as this:

https://genius.com/Jay-z-bytches-and-sisters-lyrics

And then threw this in the song for measure:

Say Jay-Z, why you gotta go and disrespect the women for, huh?

^^^ all because Nas said "you only concerned with dissing women" on "Ether". Jay was out here doing mental gymnastics for damage control. Surprisingly, Jay didn't called out for it during that era. One minute Jay's simping in elevators for women, the next he's dissing them on the same album. Is it Iceberg Slim or Shawn Carter?

The track on BP2 bytches and Sisters was the ultimate juelzing by Jay.
