I swear, you are like the Nas encyclopedia of The Coli. That's the kind of knowledge I always want to have. :wow:

Here's another one for you: How was "Hustlers" created? Seemed like a random choice to get Dre on HHID. :jbhmm:

Nas went to Dre for a beat. Dre offered to do the ENTIRE album but Nas wanted a bunch of producers for Hip Hop Is Dead.

Dre been wanting to do an album with Nas for a minute.

Just Blaze posted an IG vid a couple years ago with Nas saying they were finishing the record. It was at the Hov b-side concert from a few years ago which was presumably recorded for a Netflix special (that hasn’t come out yet).
this?
he's saying DJ Green Lantern has the sessions/mp3

i swear Just blaze is a capmaster

If he is legit, there are enough Nas fans here to cop those songs off of him. Thing is, would these songs be kept among us and not end up widespread. Reason I say that is because maybe Nas doesn't want them released, but on the flip side, these are joints that we may not hear otherwise.

I’d rather not take money out of an artist’s pocket personally. I know Nas is “rich” and all that but there’s a reason why these songs have never been heard and i’d rather respect the art than actually buy shyt from some (probably a cac) who STOLE them.

My only knock against buying these songs is the artistry. In terms of taking money from him, if Nas never intends to release these songs. It's not really loss of profit for him. If its material that he might use for a Lost Tapes or he has plans on releasing at some point, I see the conflict.

If this is the same leaker, he had some Dre and Eminem material. As crazy as it was, Dre ended up releasing some of the songs this guy ended up leaking. "I Need A Doctor" was one of those songs. "Kush" was also one of them.

You would think that ANY producer/engineer with Nas/Jay-Z collabs would keep them shyts EXTRA tight under lock and key

They normally do keep music like that under wraps, but there was a time when we used to get a lot of unreleased Nas music that would pop up between album cycles. That doesn't happen anymore. We got "Talk of NY" shortly after Street's Disciple came out and "Serious" leaked right before the album dropped. Untitled was the last time I remember seeing leaked tracks. We got "The Fear", which was supposed to be on the album.

Alot of the times rappers may reuse verses or concepts from unreleased songs for new songs and/or features. Nas actually does that a lot.

Not to mention like you said the possibilities of further Lost Tapes installments.

I just don’t think ultimately its good business to reward people who steal songs with legit money. I felt the same way about the leaker who got 10K to leak Act 2. If Jay Elect ain’t getting that money then it just feels fukked up to call ourselves fans but pay for stolen material

I thought Act 2 was officially released.

I agree with you on that last point.

It was only officially released BECAUSE the hacker raised 10K and released it. Jay Elect was initially unhappy about it but after all the good buzz decided to throw it on Tidal for awhile.

The con to that is that it was CLEARLY not a finished album. Missing feature verses, low quality mastering, and one track was a straight up unfinished reference track.
