Black Republicans is the most frustrating song I’ve ever heard because it NEEDED a third verse with them going back and forth!I wonder what it would take for the song to be completed.
We already have "Black Republican" and "Success," we need to complete the trilogy.
Just Blaze can be the worst. If you’re gonna keep it on your hard drive, don’t tease us, Just.
Just Blaze posted an IG vid a couple years ago with Nas saying they were finishing the record. It was at the Hov b-side concert from a few years ago which was presumably recorded for a Netflix special (that hasn’t come out yet).Just said nas just left the studio in the middle of the session and never finished it
Just said on SOHH that the Scientist was supposed to be the official Nas/Jay-Z collab for Hip Hop Is Dead (It was originally titled NY Stomp)
According to Just Nas wanted Jay to record his verse first but both Jay and Just wanted Nas on the first verse because it was his song. Nas came to the studio with a bunch of Rhyme books and began piecing his verse together. Just when he was getting going he got a phone call from someone (He didn’t know who specifically but he thought it was Kelis) said he’d be back. But never returned
Since they went on to make "Black Republican," how did that song come about? And why wouldn't they have finished "The Scientist" unless there was some other problem (like Just being busy)?

I don’t know i’m just telling you what Just said.
Nas himself said that he and Jay were in the studio just hanging out and it became like a party. Then they just went in the booth and knocked it out.
LES said he was in the studio earlier with Nas and gave him the beat and a bottle of Patrone and then left. He said he came back a few hours later and all the patrone was gone and he was like “WTF?!?” And he called Nas and Nas told him “I got something for you” and it was Black Republican.
Jay-Z said that him and Nas knew they were going to do a song and that Black Republican was just supposed to be a “warm up” but Nas fell in love with it so thats what it was. He also said that the collaboration for Success was NOT planned but when Nas heard it he HAD to hop on it.
