Seems like this might be "Def Jam Era 05-Present" Lost Tapes based on the producers but I could be wrong. NaS over Pharrell....like the Charle's Angle's joint and BBC on Jay's album.

The beat is hard...I dont know what yall are talking about
It's a nas album. Any beat will be dissected 10 different ways. I know you're not new to this phenomenon...
In two weeks, cats will be arguing whether a particular snare was too loud or needed to be minimized

:whoa:Don't throw me in this. I didn't say one bad word about the snippet or the raps. I just asked why he would expect it to be new and said I think Statik is a sort of Primo clone. That's not a bad thing. I love 9th Wonder and he's sort of Pete Rock clone. I don't dislike Statik at all. Most of his beats are decent and he's a good dude.
This new Nas/Statik snippet is :banderas:It's hard as fukk and I like it more than what I heard on Nasir honestly.

I keep laughing about how wrong I was about this album. I only got one right which was Who Are You. Of course we all knew of unreleased Statik, Pete Rock, Toomp, Swizz, NO I.D. but we weren't even looking for RZA and definitely not Kanye. 16 tracks? WTF!! If we get 6 dope shyts, its a success and Nas lyrics are always dope. On the real, I underestimated the God. Not the fact that he can still bring the heat, I'd never question that but I was certain that he would stick closer to the original formula of the Lost Tapes, which was 90% material we had already heard; but I have to admit... I am very excited about this project.

I'll just put this out there just because... Nas next album is still done and he still has a full 12-15 unreleased songs left from the last 4 albums (many of which we know about). Therefore, we ain't getting no pre-Def Jam stuff. It just ain't coming.

I don't think this song will sound like that. That Pharrell track is possibly from the HHID sessions. Nas talked about the producers he wanted for that album and Pharrell was one of them. He even teased making a song that went with the "2 Million Dollar beat" rumor. I always thought Jeezy's "Rumors" produced by Pharrell was the Nas song. It was a bonus from Jeezy's 2006 album. It would make sense if Nas didn't use it. It was never confirmed that it was Nas song first though.

This track reminds me of a Nas project I wanted Nas to do and that was a compilation that has lots of his soundtrack joints and miscellaneous tracks on it

Wanna Play Rough
One on One
Gangster Tears
Shine on It
War is necessary
Escobar 97
Nas' Angels

I know there are more.

I feel you. For what it's worth I don't think the material we are looking for is there.

Just Blaze ain't done anything with Nas that's unreleased except for The Scientist which supposedly still isn't done yet due to either Jay or Nas not finishing their verses.

Alchemist hasn't done anything with Nas since 2009/2010 at the very latest and 2005 is the last time I'm aware of. Alc pretty much cleaned out the vaults of what they had when he released My Will, Too Late, One Never Knows, etc, on his Cutting Room Floor projects. He did recently express a lot of interest in working on a project with Nas though.

I'm honestly not sure if Primo has recorded anything with Nas since 2nd Childhood. At the time of their cover shoot for Scratch Magazine in the mid 00's, they hadn't recorded anything since then, and according to some sources I know they still haven't done anything. If I'm wrong, maybe they have 1 or 2 joints, and I'd be surprised if either was actually finished.

Not sure about the last time L.E.S. worked with Nas and I'm also curious about the Toomp production.

A year or two ago, Kyambo "Hip Hop" Joshua told Rap Radar that he brought Nas to Alchemist's house on the first day they started working together. Basically they met in Cali, chopped it up, and then went to Alch's place. That was 2015 or 2016. Whether an Alch beat was selected who knows, but I'd assume they heard some fire beats and planned on working on something.

As a quick referemce: Kyambo was Kanye's first manager and picked Hov's beats for years. He was exec producing Nas' album before the Kanye thing happened. Dunno if they're still cool or what happened.
