1). So the question of which era Nas we are getting has been emphatically answered (Def Jam) which comes as a BIT of a surprise as Def Jam originally held up the release of the OG Lost Tapes when he was signed to the label. Now that he’s on Mass Appeal (distributed through Sony) there’s no issues? Kind of weird.

2). You Mean The World is NOT a Nasir era track. That song is damn near 12 years old. I been waiting FORVER for a CDQ version of that track.

3). Two Pete Rock joints:ohhh:

4). I’d bet a millie that Beautiful Life is the “Life Is Good” title track that was left off the album.

5). TWO RZA beats:gladbron:

6). Jarreau Of Rap. Guess Nas said fukk that Sinatra in the Sands shyt:mjlol:

Does this mean that Nas really bought that expensive ass beat when people said it was a debunked rumor?

I remember Nas dissing Pharrell on street riders.

No

That was a rumor started by STU-Top Dude in 2005 on the Nas BBS that went viral. Nas himself said the notion of paying 2 million for a beat was ridiculous and that Pharrell should pay HIM 2 million for a feature

Maybe that's why Nas was so ticked off at Def Jam. They offered him a $200,000 to do The Lost Tapes 2 and they wouldn't allow him to have it count against his deal so not only do you not have a big enough budget to pay off all those top producers but then it doesn't count as an album? WTF. No wonder Nas went ape shyt and told them to "open up the real budget".

Someone up that thread about how hip-hop isn't worth listening to in 2019. It was from like a week ago.

Officially No

He did some unreleased remixes that’s it.

Rumors were he did the One on One off Street Fighter soundtrack but thats not true.

Hopefully he didn't. I still want to hear it and apparently its dope. Khaled asked specifically if that would be on Lost Tapes and Nas was like "that's not Lost Tapes" and hinted that it was epic.

This is what Nas thought of some of the songs on Lost Tapes. Some nikkas like Nas and Dre probably got volumes of classic shyt they don't want to let people hear.

Nas: I wanted people to hear ’em in the proper way. I had so many songs lying around that are weird that I wouldn’t want anybody to hear—I [was] embarrassed.

I saw a Swizz Beatz interview around the time he was promoting Poison last year and he said he didnt wanna put it on his album cause it would take away from the rest of the LP. So Im guessing it was always meant to be for Swizz? I know people think it was the mysterious track they heard at the Life is Good listening session but I dont recall people saying they heard Jay, X and Kiss on that one.

Jay, X, and Jada were added later. I don't think that's the same beat either. Lil Wayne's "Uproar" produced by Swizz fits the description more so than the beat Swizz played at the Just Blaze battle.
