The "release" of Jarreau of rap as the "single" took the air out of the release. Lost freestyle or Tanasia would have set the tone. This was a really good project otherwise :ehh:

Yea Nas is a creative dude and I really like Jarreau Of Rap but it wasn’t “single” material.

I think its fukked up though that the album didn’t get the love it rightfully deserved. Soooooo many straight up COLD joints on that project.

This project needed The Scientist to give it an extra push
There was a vid of Nas and Just Blaze a couple years ago talking about finishing the track. I wonder what happened. Perhaps saving it for the Lost Tapes he mentioned that would have a lot of features (since Hov is on the track now)?

Seems like there’s such an interest in Nas+Hov tracks now that it has to come out eventually right.

At this point they need to go ahead and give us that joint album.

11 tracks. Get Hit Boy/Just Blaze/Swizz/Kanye to anchor the production and a premo beat just for the nostalgia and grandeur and knock it out

I seriously don't even see how this is up for debate. LT2 just hits differently all around. And it's a great summer album too.

Aside from at best 2 or 3 tracks, KD was flat as hell to me. Gave it 2 or 3 full spins at most and never bothered revisiting it. Still can't figure out what people see in KD.
Kings Disease is a great well rounded sonically sounding album for today's era of music. It has songs for every audience. It's a dope album. If you watch in particular the younger audience review the album on YouTube they love it, which is great for Nas. I can let that album play straight through. Lost tapes 2 is dope as well.

There a list of what era each of the tracks came from? Looked for one a while back but couldn't find one with everything in one place

Not an official list, but I could break it down based on what I've read.

"No Bad Energy" and "Adult Film" were made from sessions with Swizz Beatz in Los Angeles in 2016. "Echo" also came from these sessions.

"Vernon Family" and "You Mean the World to Me" were from HHID.

I don't know when "Jarreau of Rap" was made. Could have been made specifically for LT2.

"Lost Freestyle," "Royalty," and "Beautiful Life" were from Life is Good. Nas actually went and added a new verse to "Lost Freestyle," and the hook to "Royalty" has origins from a song called "No Such Thing as White Jesus." Frank Ocean originally performed the hook, but the song got lost.

"Tanasia" and "Highly Favored" were made any time between 2016 and 2018. Nas said in an interview that his next album after Nasir was going to have RZA and Swizz as producers, so these songs most likely came from sessions for it.

"Who Are You" and "Queens Wolf" were from Untitled.

I have no idea when "War Against Love" was made. Could easily be a LT2 exclusive.

"The Art of It" was made in 2009/2010. Nas mentions his divorce to Kelis as a current event and says that he's 36.

"It Never Ends" and "Queensbridge Politics" are LT2 exclusives. Nas said he had to get Alchemist for the album. And apparently, Pete Rock originally made the beat for "Queensbridge Politics" in 1990. :mindblown:
