album fell completely off the charts in its second week.

I think that was kinda expected sadly, same thing happened with Nasir.

I dont know what it says about Nas in 2019 and in terms if he should even release albums anymore without the usual push of singles, which being in Mass Appeal and his age might not be his thing.

Off-topic, but I would love nothing more than for Nas' next album to be executive produced by Rick Ross. And no, I'm not one of those Nas fans who thinks he picks bad beats, I just think Ross raps on the type of beats that fit Nas perfectly. That album would automatically be a classic. Don't mind me I'm daydreaming.

People always ask for this but I dont think it would be the answer. Ross for all his praise of beat picking has like 2 styles (trap, early 00s Roc soul R&B "luxury " beats). It would be nice but I still think some people would still want some gutter NY stuff from Nas

Okay.....
This makes the album less dope or what?
This means he ain't at 30mil sold worldwide?
This means he ain't in his 28th yr of music relevance?

Y'all act like it's a bunch of dudes doing what nas doing. Who else debuted in 94 that's making the charts? Notice I didn't even say top 10. Nas has made that twice in 12 months

Again, Nas career longevity is absolutely amazing given that he never ever received that much radio support even at his peak.

For whatever reason, a lot of cats on the coli don't like to look at things in context

The Coli is very bad with context.
And everything related to sales and "flopping" is all contextual.

Drake doing 120k on a compilation of previously released songs? Fantastic.
Drake doing 250k on his next album of new songs? Flop.

Nas doing 100k on his next album of new songs? Amazing

Nas has 3 classic albums this decades. Distant Relatives, lost tapes 2 and, life is good. All classics. Nasir the weaker of the 4 and still pretty solid in my eyes.
i give you distant relatives and LIG - classics to me
lost tapes 2 not quite -it is incredible though.
2 weeks and still heavy in rotation and it looks like i'll be playing it for a while.
his output this decade is incredible if you think about it.
