Guess I'm only one not feeling the Alchemist song. I usually dont mind his drumless beats, but I thought this one in particular was pretty dull and didnt go anywhere. :manny:

And why Mass Appeal put a SUPERIOR version of Vernon Family on the youtube page but not on the actual album? :snoop:

Nah, I feel you completely. That is by far the biggest disappointment on this album to me. Al is arguably top 5 EVER. Off the tracklist alone I would expect him to have the illest production on here right next to Pete.

How the fukk you let Swizz "Casio" Beats outshine you on a Nas album Alan?

I respect everyone's opinion, but people are really complaining about the production. This is some of the best production he's had and it isn't due to the names attached to the songs. "Lost Freestyle" and "War Against Love" are two of the best songs on the album. If Ross rapped over them, you'd have posters talking that "Ross should executive produce and A&R Nas next album" talk.

Facts. Imagine if Pete played the instrumental of “the art of it” on IG. Purist would be Nas need to holla at PR it’s been long overdue.

Gotta salute statik and toomp for letting the beat ride on their respected tracks. Letting a dope beat ride out, letting a dope beat fade has become a lost art. Tracks on Bandana are a huge example of this.

:ahh:

ive only herd the album once and it was an instant classic.

first impressions of negativity was the hitboy and swizz hooks and the pacing of track 6,7,8

but after that album picked back up

now im listening for my second time and i immediately noticed something

im listening to the album in reverse and it seems to be sequenced properly

track 1 beautiful life and the last track being bad energy

it completely changes the tone of the album as now the first track immediately references recent topics

then this theme of nas addressing recent topics continues on QB politics.

feels right

the introduction on beautiful is more appropiate as an album intro

then at the end of qb politics he says "we need to lighten it up"

then the next track would be "mean the world to me" which does exactly that sonically

i had the same experience with the first lost tapes.

i believe track 1 should be fetus and the last track doo rags

sequencing is extremely understated

Yeah its not Alchemist best work, Nas carried the track :manny:. Still a good beat but not even top 10 on the album.
