You know what? With all the opinions being thrown around, I finally feel comfortable saying this:

I never liked the first Lost Tapes. It was a mildly entertaining mixtape that people have been overrating for years. In fact, if you removed it from Nas' catalogue, nobody would miss it. Nothing Lasts Forever? Purple? You're really feeling those tracks? :troll:

While we're on the subject, Illmatic isn't all that great either. I'm feeling a strong 3 when I listen to it. And it's only ten tracks. And one of them is an intro while another one wasn't even made specifically for the album. That's eight tracks. Why is it that Nasir got shytted on for being short but Illmatic never does? What are you guys trying to pull? :troll:

At least half of It Was Written was okay. Thirteen tracks? I could divide. Half of those tracks are doo. The other six were nah, and then "Take It in Blood." That's a one hot song on the album average. :troll:

I know this album not hitting because with 91 pages at 50 replies per. I have yet to hear the ones that say this “classic” breaking down “what did he mean by...”

This album is straight gas from his stans

This shyt is just a good album at best. Nothing more. Deal with it b*stards.

Y’all can’t be serious

These aren’t Ross level type beats. The bests on this album aren’t even good

Some of them are on that level. When I see posts about the beats on a Nas album, I already know it's a knee jerk reaction from people who haven't even listened to it.

^^^ this actually sounds like one of those grandiose mafiosos Ross album enders

^^^ another one of those luxury beats that are found on Ross albums

^^^ all beats that could've been on a Ross album

Nas last three pure solo albums (Untitled, Life Is Good, Lost Tapes 2) had GREAT production, and if you throw in Distant Relatives thats FOUR albums with great consistent production.

This “Nas can’t pick good beats” bullshyt is a GROSS exaggeration. Life Is Good in particular was a superbly produced album and should be heralded as a triumph for No ID and Salaam Remi

Exactly.

The bolded is usually a stock reply for people who have never heard the album. They just come in and drop that reply because its such a popular statement where Nas is concerned even when it is unfounded. I remember one of Nas's albums leaking and a dude was like "the production is horrible". Same poster came back admitting he hadn't even heard the album and was like "this actually has decent production after listening to it".

Hip hop is working on nas official album, not the lost tapes. Mal mentioned it on the Joe budden podcast. Nas offical will probably drop over the next 6- 8 months. Once the tour is done.

Yeah, I know he wasn’t a part of this album but I was curious as to if he was still working with Nas and I am curious to to hear what he has to say about the status of the album and working with Nas.

And I know people are on some BS when it comes to Nas's beat selection when posters on here was asking why can't Nas have Q Tip lace him with something like this:

^^^ If Nas rapped over this, people would be calling it the worst beat they ever heard. The switch makes that beat somewhat redeemable, but Q Tip has far better beats. And before 4:44 came out, posters on here were straight clowning No I.D. After that No I.D. suddenly became this Top 10 all time great. He gave Nas some of the same caliber production on LIG and posters on here said the production was weak.

Might get flamed here but Nasir wasn’t bad as people think either. I keep saying that Nas wasn’t on the streets shyt or no gangster shyt, he wasn’t even on the bytches so it just wasn’t what people wanted to hear. The beats were very good so for me, everything he has done since HHID was legit. Even what he did on the Get Down.

Nasir is over hated too. Not for radio, bonjour, everything, Adam and Eve, Simple things all fire. Everything is one of the most powerful record I've ever heard honestly. And the Nasir film really brought it to life.
