jarreau of rap isn't as bad as the first time i heard it either, but dude really shoulda left royalty off or dropped the hook or something. it doesn't fit with the rest of the album.

I think Royalty is :blessed:

Rick James doc makes so much sense. We all figured they'd do another rap doc next but it would be hard to top the Wu one in terms of scope with anyone else in rap (assuming you didn't go the tired Pac/Biggie route). Lot more "bigger than life/genre" people in rock and funk to do docs on...especially ones who haven't really been explored much like Rick James.

Dog it’s only 2 records on this album I won’t revisit. Skat ATTACK & Royalty. All the other records are cool. Not one time did I say the album was wack. My only real complaints are it’s a little too much “she say” “her bf” & I wanted QB politics to be a classic and not just good. But I can almost guarantee his next album that record addressing QB is gonna happen. Whether it’s on some destroy and rebuild or trying to unify everyone. Either way I can pencil that track as a classic.

"Vernon Family" sounds like no other Neptunes/Pharrell beat ever. It reminds me of a jazzier version of Game's "Higher".

"No Bad Energy" is :banderas:

"Lost Freestyle"

"Adult Film"

"Who Are You"--- still relevant and worthy of being a great single

Some songs are skippable, but this is one of Nas's best produced projects.

Edit: (post was too long)

Who Are You is a vibe. This tape is fire and has been on repeat.

I don’t get what nikkas are talking about with the beats and all lat, but that’s becoming the norm for me in this era. fukk it tbh. :yeshrug:

Just enjoy the sounds and leave it at that. That’s how I move.
