Street Disciples should have been one great CD, and all that getting married marriage lovey dovey songs should have been scrapped. Hindsight's 20/20 :pachaha:

I wasn't too keen on some of the production. But I feel it was above mediocre, it was good just not his best imo.

the black cat is my crown...
In today's music era, double albums should be a :smh:
there's only so much time in a day... one of my homies once made this point to me, if you're going to listen to an artist, why not listen to their best shyt? ... as i reflect, there are a lot of good single discs that i don't listen to half the songs on them because i'd rather be listening to the 3 - 4 songs on that disc that are just incredible... i often forget the other songs on that same disc that are just good.... making a double cd that keeps a listeners attention is almost impossible, especially in the cd/mp3 age... people are just going to gravitate to the songs they love and even the good songs will get overlooked for the great songs.... i think that is probably sd's biggest failing.... just too long....

It goes without saying that if you took the best songs and created 1 disc that it would be great...but I like to think of it as two different moods combined to form 1 album.

Disc 1 was basically a statement to show he still got it lyrically and creatively.

Disc 2 was grown man shyt, talking about family, marriage, growing older.

Thematically its actually the perfect way to do a double album imo.

Brooklyn son
The double disc had a few joints on it. I bumped it heavy when I copped it. I think CDs were still popping so it was a bytch carrying it around. But I really really enjoyed that album. I liked disc 1 more. American Way, Nazareth Savage, Message To The Feds, Live Now, Reason, Rest of My life,Sekou Story, dope cuts! Actually disc 2 was dope too. suicide bounce, war (best song of the album) getting married again dope!

Never got the hate for this album at all.

Nas did that album to get off his contract with Sony (double lp)...basically said what he wanted to say at that time and bounced

"No one else in the room" and "War" are the best songs on there....all those themed songs on disc 1 had little to no replay value and those marriage related songs on disc 2 didn't age well at all
