Nas really got 5 classics. Name which other rapper that got 5 classic rap albums. Honestly.

even if you don't count Kill At will you have Amerikkkas most Wanted, DC(that most people felt was better than AMW) and Predator. Cube started to get a little lax with Lethal Injection and that still was a very dope album. then you have Scarface with The World is Yours, The Diary, The Fix. If we want to talk hip hop, we got to know hip hop. I can't debate a top 10 or top 20 Heavy Metal album because even though I casually listened to it, it was never my genre. I can talk about hip hop because I've been listening to it for well over 30+ years buying albums, vinyl, etc so I've seen and heard a lot. Even listened to a lot over the years that I didn't like. Was never a big LL fan, but I respect him. My neighbor in the 80s used to love LL and dressed like him daily haha. I was PE guy, but LL is great and I respect him and what he's done.

predator and the fix are not classics.

"the world is yours" is not undisputable.

i don't know man. Predator was universally loved by everyone with too bangers on it to say it wasn' a classic. And as for the world is yours, it's the same thing. It's one of those things that you would have had to been there to understand. I hear people today talk about how Illmatic is better than Nation of Millions. That's insane..

Yeah. In the 90s the general consensus was It Takes a Nation was the GOAT album and Rakim was the GOAT.

For me
Illmatic >>>

:wow:

Illmatic - absolute classic. changed the rap game.
IWW - any album with take it in blood is a classic
Stillmatic - Intro, ether, got ur self a gun, 2nd childhood, u da man, what goes around and the flyest. fukking classic.
The lost tapes - this compilation album is better than most rappers careers. simply a classic. The du rags....
God's Son - no comment. just classic. nas went in on last real nikka alive.

Please name another rapper with 5 classics or more. Don't say jay z cuz he got three (RD, TB and TBA) and don't say Kendrick, he on 4 (GKMC, TPAB, DAMN and S80)

:banderas:
God's Son is not classic. Its solid. Stillmatic is borderline so I'll give you that.

I'm not disputing "the world is yours" being a classic. I'm just saying that its not universally seen as one.

I'm disputing the hell out of "the fix" tho. that album was just okay. the source forcing 5 mics on it, is the only reason it even gets brought up.

ive never heard anyone refer to the predator as a classic, until now. in fact, that album not being seen as a classic, is the reason why most people below their mid-30s kinda leave cube's legacy in the bushes, without hearing his previous solos.

illmatic vs nation of millions would be a dope discussion. just don't add a poll to it.

theyre pretty much equals to me.

I always felt like ITANOM had a couple of awful songs on it. theres a couple of '80s albums that I put before it.
a few mid-90s albums i'd prolly put before illmatic. theres a couple joints on there that I always skip.

tag me if yall do that thread.

Only 2

the blueprint
Reasonable doubt
Vol 2 gets the nod from me. There’s not a bad track to be found on it. Some better than others but it’s an easy listen straight through no skips. Nothing as wack as Jigga that nikka from BP.

volume 2 is jay's 2nd best album after RD.

I also think the blueprint & black album are small classics.

with that said, his only undisputed classic is RD. but I vouch for him having 4.

Blueprint is the only undisputed classic he had. Blueprint's impact on the game was very long lasting. RD seemed to come and go and became much popular later into his career.

That's kind of what being a classic is all about though.
