That’s exactly what it was
You know what I've noticed with a lot of these street dudes, they came from stable 2 parent households, middle class decent neighborhood, some of them even went to private catholic schools. Then they flip it to:

"I had it hard in the hood"
"I had no options, it was either sell drugs or starve"
"The game was the only way out of the ghetto"

Dude had a golden opportunity with Murder Inc

Has a chance to make a movie about anything but instead makes some straight to DVD, Donald Goines inspired ghetto bullshyt

3/10 on Rotten Tomatoes :mjlol:

I don't see anything wrong with that. He liked the book and tried to adapt it into a movie.

Yea that's the part that had me :dwillhuh:
Irv was going to give you a cushy gig, and you didn't want it because you still want to be remembered as a street dude.

So it was God B that really shot 50? Always thought it was Darryl Baum? Damn,.......it's crazy how the Supreme team stuff in the 80's basically carried over into the early 2000's with the 50 and Murder inc stuff.

Preme' coulda had a legit cush job at Murder inc as like a VP with a 6 figure salary and just was like "nah im good fam,....."

i don't understand how you turn that down.

it's also pretty crazy that most of those dudes came from middle class two parent households.

It's the same thing with the mob...so many of these gangsters love romanticizing themselves and seeing themselves as heroes when in reality most of them are just dirty street capitalists. And so many otherwise intelligent folks just let them off the hook because they're enamored by the hustler story.

They see themselves as Omar or even Avon when they just a bunch of Marlos basically.

"Props is a true thug's wife"

The way Irv told it, Preme saw a VP title as a demotion
Irv was right too, any other hustler would have jumped at the chance to go legit as a VP of a successful record label
But Preme was on some "my name is my name" shyt

I know dudes like Preme who refuse to give up the street mentality because they were hot in the streets years ago.
The dudes I know like this didn't have a ounce of success on the streets like The Supreme team

There was a recent YouTube video on bimmy. He seemed a little salty with the doc nas did. Said ll cool j asked if he could give nas his number. Nas called but it didn’t work out. Then made a statement like “I do it but you gotta pay me” like he was salty at the same time trying not to sound bitter saying he wants everyone to succeed and as long as nas feeding preme and them, it’s all good.. shyt was weird.
