I like both of those songs. Simple Things just feels kind of incomplete and I like Bonjour but not as much as my 1-4. Not for Radio and Everything are the 2 songs I don’t see myself going back to that much on this project
Yeah Simple Things ends abruptly and is too short but still breh. It's so good, I mean the lyrics, the beat and the simple yet effective hook. I cant agree though I understand to an extent and hopefully Kanye goes back to finish that up and reupload it on streaming sites.

As for Bonjour I like it better than the top 4 you have up there personally but again to each their own man.

Hold up hold up

It’s 2018.. define incredible for Nas?

Is that what you were anticipating a few weeks ago?

How much time do you think Nas is spending in the studio writing, recording, and listening to beats a week in 2018?

This can be applied to Rakim, KRS, Jay, Face, Cube, Ball & G, Dr.Dre... I could go on

The format and layout for the projects were 7 songs.. no singles.. no promo...

This wasn’t even a conventional release. There is nothing for radio or TV.. given the context and circumstances of where Nas is personally and professionally this is a great album.

And it leaves you wanting more.. I would love to know what a lot of you wanted or expected from the project initially

None of that has to do with delivering an incredible song. Nasir just doesn't have one and he's not obligated to deliver one. I like the album, but I'm not gonna lie or give Nas a pass for simply dropping an album even if I feel it falls short of being brilliant or incredible. This was billed as 2028 Nas capturing the best of Nas. I simply don't agree with that. There's nothing on this album that I could comfortably say is some of Nas's best work. "Adam & Eve" comes closest. Listening to Life Is Good, I was amazed that a veteran like Nas was still cranking out music that I felt was some of his best work.

Same goes for Face. I was really impressed with his newer albums like Made and Deeply Rooted.

I don’t hear uninspired when I listen to Not For Radio, Everything, Adam and Eve, Simple Things

I don’t hear offbeat flow when i listen to Cops Shot The Kid, White Label, or Bonjour.

But fukk it. Everyone has their own opinion.

I’ve listened to the album enough where i feel comfortable in ranking it amongst his discography

Nasir, to me, doesn't have a single song as good as the best from I Am, or Nastradamus, not even closer.

NY State Of Mind 2, Hate Me Now, Undying Love, Nas is Like, Life We Chose, Project Windows, Family,

I couldn't agree more, this is his worst album in my opinion, this joint is forgettable, Adam and Eve is the best joint but that doesn't stack up to the best joints on I Am or Nastradamus

This is a 3.5 mic album. It'll stack up with the year's best. It's disappointing on the heels of LIG. I don't want this to be the last Nas album.
I didn't hear any issues with him being off beat. There were no tracks where he blacked out with the flow. Lyrically this is sharp.
The production is good...but not what it should have been. I imagine I'll play this quite a bit.

I hope the disappointing sales gives him leverage in negotiating clearing samples for the albums he will release independently through Mass Appeal. If that's the plan. I hope he releases music like crazy. Not dropping anything for six years, again, would be insane.

Not the best song lyrically on the album but White Label been on repeat. Fire sample n the loop of the horns add a psychedelic element to the beat pretty tough

Cooled off on this a little bit, still pretty good tho. Listened to I Am... & Untitled recently, I like those albums better than NASIR

I'd also say Nasir doesn't have a single song as good as any of his best songs from ANY of his work.....which means I have to rate this as the lowest, or right next to 'Hip Hop Is Dead".

Illmatic A
It Was Written A
I Am B
Nastradamus C+
Stillmatic B
Gods Son B
Streets Disciple C+
Hip Hop is Dead C-
Untitled B
Life Is Good B
Nasir C

3rd Rock From the Sun
Listing Nasir above I am and Natradamus damn near disrespectful :gucci:

No track on Nasir better than NY state of Mind II/Hate Me Now/Nas is Like/Project Windows :francis:

Nas the Goat but i think the Kanye-7 album deal just rushed the process for Nas and it shows.

A good album will literally force you to relisten to it such as J cole's, Pusha Ts and more recently Jay Rock's. This body of work doesnt move me to relisten to it. Its there with the Streets Disciple :wow:

I still have faith the GOAT will bless us with a more cohesive project (hopefully this year) :ahh:
