yeah you’re right Nas is GOAT, and still somehow underrated

I still think in the long run history will catch up

his peers recognize his greatness, which in some ways is more important IMO… and Harvard knows what’s up, same with the National Orchestra Symphony, Michael Eric Dyson wrote a book, etc

it’s just casual and young hip hop fans who are blind (or deaf) to his greatness

Fully agree. In 25-30 years time when they look at the history of rap, Nas’ music like will have that depth and poetics to still be listened to, studied and admired then. Others too of course will, but lot of Nas’ peer’s music will not carry on a legacy that far

i don't have an issue with his sales (although a lot of people here don't keep that same energy when he does sell well).

I'm pointing out how there's less hardcore Nas fans out there than we wanna believe and that sucks.

There are Nas fans that don't even know he dropped an album.
If you're an adult not super active on sm, you miss out on a lot.

We assume everybody is active on sm in this day n age. But that's not the case at all

But still with all that being said, nobody from his era moves the needle more than Nas. Except for jay

It will be interesting to see how Jay's next album is marketed just to keep the sales respectable.

Like I always say, Nas long career is remarkable being that radio never fukked with him

I think a more accurate assessment would be "Nas fans who spend money on music are an endangered species", lol...but who am I to interfere with the hate? Get ya shyt off kid,.

I know I'm one of his biggest fans, without a doubt, and I aint pay for shyt. Most of the people i know that are around my age heard it too, I'm pretty sure they all heard it for free. We not music crazy like we were as teens...blowing money on it when it's free isn't something adults are really trying to do...that's one of the downsides of having an older demo, especially in something like Rap. But you will see by the shows and the energy and all the talk that everybody has heard and is fully aware of the album tho...they just aint buy it.

This shyt you typed is lame as fukk.
$8.60 with tax = blowing money

You the type to invite your homie out then do a split check. Cheap muhfukkas

1.pac
2.rakim
3. nas
4. gfk
5. biggie smalls

how could pac not be goat? and nas made a song dedicated to Rakim

but of people making music rn..yes hes number 1 bc Pac died (RIP) n Rakim aint made a song in years

There's 0 chance Jay is done. Maybe one or two more albums...but he's not done. the Jay Elect album proved that he's still at a great level, rap wise.

I will say I agree that I'm curious what the direction will be. Is he going a more commercial route after 444? Is he saying fukk it and just doing a pure rap album, with the best beats (and samples) money can buy? Who knows. But this may be the most I've anticipated a Jay album since The Black Album.

Gotta say this is pathetic.

You been stanning nas since a child (20 yrs plus) lying on having his albums early for clout

While bragging that you dont support him

Its QGTM. How the fukk u broke and cant afford $10 in ANY era?

Legit disgrace to the arts and im happy you stopped rapping because your the worst kind of vulture

I kno nggaz in the hood who only copped bootlegs; they also pumped and did bids

Your NONE of that.

Just a spoiled kid from queens who dont even support the ngga who raised you

:pacspit:
:russ::russ::russ:, fire.

Whenever Nas puts out any music I'm on it ASAP... nobody else in rap is a necessary first day listen for me. Maybe that's not enough to be called a "fan" tho, idk. Money aint been an issue in many many many moons over this way scrap (all thanks to God)...I just aint into paying for free stuff...no matter how much I fux with the artist.

And Nas didn't raise me......I loved his music since a shorty and always held/hold it down for him in hip hop arguments and shyt like that...my son better than everybody imo. That's where it stops tho.

I lowkey agree with yall, lol, I know I should be supporting my guy, my apologies, :palm:...goes against my financial IQ tho. I'm all over that Magic merch though if it drops, believe that, I'm dropping $200 easy, pics will be posted. All joking aside, I fux with yall for riding with Nas like yall do, for real. As a youngin I was on the same timing.

I think the media has done a great job at trying to discredit Nas any way they can at every single angle. To an extent it worked, because most people don't think for themselves, so if they continue to see every narrative time and time again then it gets engrained. Illmatic is nas only good album, nas dont pick good beats etc.. has been repeated so much that people just say it for no reason at this point. The media did that. Nas is so strong that he still found a way to be the goat through all that.

He was referencing Meet Joe Black

bro i heard the album but i didnt know that

bc at that time, i cant lie i smoked 2 blunts back to back. wait.. i mean i smoked an eighth in 2 blunts

but right now i smoked a blunt which was pretty big. but i didnt measure. but trees make me normal so not saying i became dumb

but negative effects for me: big time paranoia n laziness

so i still dont know what u talking about and i have spotify open... listening to million dollars worth of game with 2 chainz n 42 dugg

im not in the mood for intellectual tracks but meet joe black is the 2nd track on my mix on spotify

that means i liked the song the best n somehow nas picked a good beat

but why cant nas rap over a beat like 42 dugg n 2 chainz track

i aint arguing. but this beat kinda sound like oochie wallie

hit boy is a good producer but somehow the tracks still ruined by beats like salaam remi back

Nas dont have a good ear for beats like who doesnt know that? but he doesnt have 1 guy who is not a yes man?

im hoping the firm reunites with cormega n az

Mega n AZ got great ear for beats

like nas i got love for u but u should never decide on beats- ill keep listening bc lyrics are unmatched rn

1 album with Nas with fire beats but he puts out the same year the Knicks win the chip

then i can finally die in peace

and if the jets or raiders ( my 2 fav nfl teams i followed me whole life) win, man fukk that. i cant live in fantasy

but New York championships for next ten years, alternating with knicks/nets

but bk nets win this year n prob next year but in 2 years if they even keep all the same players but burks, walker- fukk burks though i bet $100 on the knicks yesterday i could have won $350. and i could buy alot of ttrees with that. but anyway burks missed a wide open 3 n game over. fournier pissed me off too but he good. Burks leave the knicks or this earth- ur too old to be on a squad with youngest avg age
