Does that make the album less good?

Nas himself doesn’t care. As one of the more consistently selling mainstream rappers of the past 30 years Nas has surprisingly little boasts about his sales. I can name probably only three verses where he brags about his record sales over the course of THIRTY YEARS. and the crazy thing is none of those verses were doing bis peak in the 90’s when he was doing superstar numbers.

From 27 to 121 to possibly off the chart by week 3.

Nas stans are an endangered species

If he puts it on a CD I'll get it again. Do people even buy music anymore?
Illmatic took years to finally go platinum. People wonder why we never got a a Premo or AZ album? They won't sell especially in this day and age. It's good that he makes music cause he loves doing it.

Point is that there's a lot of "fans" who can't wait for his shyt to drop and then lame out when it does. shyt is wack.

Bro, as much as any Nas fan enjoys an album, nobody got time at our age to stream it 1500 times for a sale. You got a section of Nas fans that buys albums and cool.. but why buy when its there to stream . We arent 15yrs old my nygga. And Nas damn sure dont need money. But trust when he comes to town, we in the seats. Thats how us older fans do..

Its not even that. Nas’s fanbase skews older and older fans want PHYSICALS. Most of his sales for KD1 and KD2 came from online PHYSICAL sales from his website. Its not a surprise that he sold almost exactly half of what he usually sales first week with no PHYSICAL or MERCH available. Had those been available first week he would have done similar numbers to the previous albums.

Even with all of that he was number 1 on itunes the entire week of release, which…hint hint.. is as close to PHYSICAL as it gets with no CD or Vinyl. He was also top 5 on Apple Music and number 1 for the first three days. So he was definitely getting streams.

I really hope we get a physical release soon. I own EVERY Nas album on CD and a few on Vinyl. I don’t intend for Magic to break that tradition

You’re expecting quite a lot from a surprise album released during the holidays, from an artist that hasn’t sold particularly well since 2012. Each of the KD albums fell off the charts pretty quickly too. But again, what do you expect this far into a career? Making music that isn’t getting radio play or much attention from younger audiences.

Album did what it was supposed to do. And I’m sure KD3 will sell better since it won’t be a surprise release like this.

My Pops Forever RIP
I will never understand this obsession with sales

the worst shyt sells the most... across all forms of media

Americans are dumb af

does McDonald's make the best cheeseburger in the world? it probably sells the most
i don't have an issue with his sales (although a lot of people here don't keep that same energy when he does sell well).

I'm pointing out how there's less hardcore Nas fans out there than we wanna believe and that sucks.
