I would prolly switch HHID and Street’s Disciple. Going back to that album recently made me more fond of it.

Yo I was wondering, all 3 tapes with Hitboy been solid as fukk, but if any, how many songs they did together belong in the Nas top 25 tracks OAT?

To crack Nas top 25 songs you're talking all time great songs in hip hop period, so probably not? But Blue Benz, Car 85, The Cure, Store Run, 40-16 Building sound are some of my favorite Nas tracks and Magic still growing on me

Damn pretty low.

He let everyone know literally 24 hours before release. No videos. No merch or even digital release through his website. This was basically a “Lost Tapes” type of release.

I’m sure KD3 will have a “proper” release strategy like the previous two

No merch and no digital or physical copies on his website probably hurt the sales a lot. But they clearly know what they're doing and it wasn't intended any other way.
"KD 3 on the way, this just to feed the buzz".
It just turns out the appetizer is a AOTY level project.

To do a top 25 Nas song list there's at least 6 or 7 from Illmatic at least 7 from IWW 4 or 5 from I Am 1 or 2 from Nastradamus 6 or 7 from Stillmatic ect.. Before you even get to LT or God Son:dead: or the unreleased catalogue:heh:

Listened to KD1, KD2 and Magic straight through this morning. Tough to rate.

Think KD1 has gotten underrated. Blue Benz, Car 85, Full Circle and The Cure are classics to me. Plus Replace Me and All Bad are among the best commercial leaning tracks Nas has done since the 90s. Album was a subtle modernization of his sound without any reaches or compromises.

KD2 is a dope and consistent album, more of a throwback 90s sound on a lot of the production but some more modern touches too, Death Row East, 40 Side, Rare, Store Run, Nobody, Count Me In, Composure, My Bible, Nas Is Good, a lot of highlights but I like my favorites from KD1 better.

Magic is just lean, no fat at all, no pretense of crossing over or reaching anyone outside the core fanbase with this one. Every track is nice, hard to even pick standouts because they all got their appeal. Love Meet Joe Black and 40-16. The Truth and Dedication might be the best though.

Beautifully put. KD1 is an amazing album. The sound is just so great and Nas' flow/lyrics are perfect for those type of songs.

Hip Hop is Dead, Untitled, Streets Disciple - I love them but they're definitely more specific in terms of subject matter. KD1 I can listen to anytime

Yeah it's damn near impossible for a track dropping now to have that classic feeling to compete with his top 25 which consist of joints that have been in our minds for 20+ years.

Maybe Nobody has that feeling, but I'm pretty sure I'd have easy 25 joints that I love over it

to rank his top songs, I'd have to go through eras.

Illmatic-God's Son
