I'm not mad at this opinion...if we're looking at it just from a production standpoint the Hit-Boy era is probably more consistent. Where it's debatable is Nas overall performances. Lost Tapes still my favorite album out of this era and that era.
Yup. The highs of Stillmatic, Lost Tapes, and God's Son are greater, far greater imo, than the highs of this run, even if this run is more consistent throughout.

Nothing post Stillmatic era from Nas has topped Lost Tapes for me.

Rep for reminding me about Georgia Anne Muldrow, but nah Hit-boy is more versatile, Madlib is one of my faves also, but he ain’t Dilla level of genius, Hit boy is right up there with him all round And like I said more varied with the amount of genres and different artists he can produce good work for,

No

Madlib is better than Dilla and Hit Boy

Dilla even admitted this

Dilla just gets the hype because he had a movement

Madlib is more texturized and quiet as kept he has alot of work that alot of casuals never heard because they focus on his mainstream releases

Madlib literally has multiple jazz albums under various alias

Hit Boy is cool but its no contest

But the highs on those albums are on a level that none of these albums have achieved. Those shyts have top 10-20 Nas songs on em you can accept Braveheart Party when Stillmatic intro, You're the Man, Rewind, One Mic, What Goes Around, Ether ect... :wow:
When you put it like this:wow:

Dude has put out so much good music.

I will never ever agree with him being better than Dilla but that’s just me, Dillas work In black music is extensive, the madlib songs you posted as an example of his other work outside of rap ain’t nothing special to me, certainly isn’t a ‘Got till it’s gone’ by Janet Jackson..

I haven’t heard Madlib jazz work, but I do know Hit-boy can go from making a song like nikkas in Paris that sounds nothing like Self by Khalid, that sounds nothing like Legend by Benny the Butcher then all the way back to Better Off by Ariana Grande, that’s real versatility, Maybe I need to hear Madlib jazz work because very few producers have it in their bag to be all round great across the board like that.

I'm gonna be sad if you have Nas, Rocky, Hit and Preme in the studio together and we don't get something else out of this. I could use a Rocky Hit Collab or Nas and Premier for that hip hop 50 thing Nas got going on

I like Magic but prefer to listen to I Am and Nastradamus. Like Magic’s good but there are more quotable iconic lines and higher highs on those albums which are Nas’s so called worst albums.

KD1 was smooth, KD2 was more upbeat. I hope KD3 is really aggressive and amped up. That version of Nas has always been the best Nas to me. When he’s fired up. Stillmatic, IWW and Illmatic he came out with something to prove.
