Nas has this way of doing braggadocio raps in a "you can do it too, let me tell you how" type way that Jay just never comes across doing. With Jay it's obnoxious, and high handed - like how he's better than you. With Nas it's just more organic, and as if you're being spoken to, not down on.
Good point. I also think nas is bragging towards his every day haters. He has gotten hate like no other over the years

All bullshyt aside, there's nothing really wrong with this album. These really might be the hardest beats Nas has rapped over in a long time. Only skip on here is Ugly. Just doesn't work for me.

Not sure if it's gonna knock off anything above the bottom of my top 10 list this year but it's pretty good. Definitely better than KD1 which was decent but didn't move the needle for me. KD2 I just never got around to listening to....maybe I still won't lmao
See now was that really so hard

It’s a dope album. Gotta give the god his due. Not saying it’s you, since you’re prob reacting moreso to Nas fans than anything else, but a lot of people move goal posts with Nas. It went from “he only has one good album” to “well that’s not as good as Illmatic” so even if he drops something dope there’s somebody dismissing it.

I think Speechless, Pressure, Queens Get The Money are the best opening tracks on Nas's albums.

People sleeping on Money over bullshyt

“Join me in war, many will live, many will mourn
Money Over Bullshyt, pistols over brawn
Afraid not of none of you cowards but of my own strength”

I think its because Nas is quick to rap about his own flaws and hang ups in a manner that is relatable. So when he does kick the bragging raps it feels like he’s letting you in on the triumph after having weathered the storm.

On a song like One Mic where he’s talking about women leaving him because they thought he was finished. Or Your Da Man where he talks about being stabbed in the back by old friends. Or even The World Is Yours where he opines that he needs a new nikka for this black cloud to follow. Thats very relatable subject matter. Jay-Z has only really gotten that deep recently on 4:44.

I noticed J.Cole does a really good job of balancing that juxtaposition as well, thats why his fans worship him.

Talk to them!

Nas intro game = Best in rap.

Money over bullshyt madd underrated, might be in the Top 5 of his intros. When you think about all the classic intros he has it's really a feat to get into the Top 5.

"Dreams of falling in the elevator, passing floors /
suddenly stop, the doors open up to a brick wall"

:picard:, shyt sounds like a nightmare, lol.

I don't work this hard to be around people I don't like..

My Mrs also clocked this line above everything in this project... That hit me the most too.

That's a deep line
The line sticks to my ribs. My life has been so much better every since I cut this one particular person out of my personal life. Focused on self improvement. This year has been a complete 180 for me. Im celebrating the new me. Along with a extremely motivated Nas is so inspiring in this day and age.

"Queens Get the Money" had me like :damn: the first time I heard it. I don't repeat tracks, but I had to do it with this one because of how sick it was.

"I'm Huey P in Louis V at the eulogy, throwing Molotovs for Emmett
And you ain't as hot as I is
All of these false prophets is not messiahs
You don't know how high the sky is
The square mileage of Earth or what pi is
I'm the shaky hand that touched George Foreman in Zaire
The same hand that punched out devils that brought down the Towers"
