I'm just talking about the opening tracks on Nas albums only. Not in entirely hip-hop.
Those songs are dope but Stillmatic intro NYSOM 1&2 Get Down ect... there are levels. Now if you told me those songs are better intros than No Introduction Message to the Feds Money Over Bullshyt I would agree:yeshrug:

I like this album. I come from the Illmatic days so I've sort of checked out hip hop the last few years. I listened to this once and I like it a lot. It's a nice attempt at trying to bridge a classic sound with a newer sound that.

Nas sounds good. He seems to has some more flow on this one compared to the other stuff i checked out where it sounded like he was generally reading his lyrics. I like hearing some scratching on here and what i consider more classic hip hop elements.

I wonder what Nas saw about Mr. Magic that sparked his mind for alot of this project. I heard a bit of it in his music. I don't now much about hit boy it was cool to hear some old UBB drums. Not sure if knows them or just got some drum kits or whatever. Either way it sounds good. Gotta re listen but i think i picked up some little things like Just Ice use on there as an open hi hit. Little stuff like that was cool. Gonne give this a re listen.

All bullshyt aside, there's nothing really wrong with this album. These really might be the hardest beats Nas has rapped over in a long time. Only skip on here is Ugly. Just doesn't work for me.

Not sure if it's gonna knock off anything above the bottom of my top 10 list this year but it's pretty good. Definitely better than KD1 which was decent but didn't move the needle for me. KD2 I just never got around to listening to....maybe I still won't lmao
