Streets Disciple has a score of 80 on Metacritic. Thats higher than Stillmatic. Its also Nas’s last album to date to reach Platinum. It was definitely critically acclaimed when it first dropped.

Even Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, who typically shyt on Nas, praised the album.

Street's Disciple

Nas: Street's Disciple

Hip Hop Is Dead has a Metacritic score of 79 and is to date Nas’s second highest selling album in the first week. Again it was very well received when it dropped

it’s funny. I find the albums of Nas’ that hip hop heads aren’t fans of get better ratings from critics. As you say SD and HHID were fairly well praised by critics while Stillmatic was seen as average but hip hop heads loved it.

to me SD and HHID are solid albums but only have a handful of tracks I go back to now. While Stillmatic, Life Is Good, Untitled and God’s Son aged better.

Of all Nas’ albums since I got into hip hop heavy in 2001 HHID and Nasir the ones which disappointed me the most. HHID good but with that title I hoped for something more. Nasir I don’t think you can blame Nas beyond saying he shouldn’t have done a rushed project

I know the sample on "Meet Joe Black", it's from last 10 years, something I used to listen to a lot. Like 2009 or so.

Need help! Drake, or J. Cole or something like that

Just throwing this out there, but for better or worse I've never found it to be the case that hip-hop heads' opinions align with publications reviews or receptions of albums.
