Streets Disciple, HHID, and Untitled are amongst Nas’s most acclaimed albums. People definitely loved them when they first dropped I don’t know where the revisionist history comes from that people didn’t fukk with those albums.
Ziggiy we were all alive when those albums dropped. I was literally in high school and a Nas stan. I watched people fall asleep literally when I played Street’s Disciple. Unless you’re referring to his core fan base like us. I would say Common’s Be album was more popular and resonated more than any of those 3 albums.

1. Nas

Everybody else.

I'm on track four. Nas is my favorite rapper, but haven't heard anyone be THIS good for THIS long. How is he this deep in the game and still showing growth?
He's the standard as an MC in this hip hop shyt. Other nikkaz sold more records awards whatever ect.. as MC's they've never been on Nasir Jones level. Never have never will be

Man, ya'll know drumless beats aren't my favorite, but Ugly is the one I've got on repeat right now. I've ran it back 5 times in a row now. It's just so moody and hypnotic.

The keys sound to me like a more somber version fo The World Is Yours.

:wow:

Both of those beats (The World Is Yours and Ugly) sound like a rainy day to me. So its dope how he flipped the concept about it being ugly outside.

No doubt. I love this Nas run as much as anyone, and those Nas albums in the 2000's were most certainly not hates or disliked or anything like that. I seem to remember most people thinking they were good and respectable, but not quite being blown away or floored by them. They were a bit cooler than Stillmatic and God's Son.

I don't think anyone was trying to say they were trash. HHID is my favorite of those 3, and I do think the years have been kind to them.

They were not acclaimed when they first came out, especially the first two :mjlol:. Untitled got some love at first but it dried up after a while

Streets Disciple has a score of 80 on Metacritic. Thats higher than Stillmatic. Its also Nas’s last album to date to reach Platinum. It was definitely critically acclaimed when it first dropped.

Even Rolling Stone and Pitchfork, who typically shyt on Nas, praised the album.

Street's Disciple

Nas: Street's Disciple

Hip Hop Is Dead has a Metacritic score of 79 and is to date Nas’s second highest selling album in the first week. It also earned Nas his first Grammy nomination in 7 years. Again it was very well received when it dropped
