breh i dont understand what ppl hear in donda...and i like kanye's music but that shyt was godawful
I feel like it's either people trying to force themselves to like it, or it's a case of someone repeating something so much that everyone believes it. If you just keep insisting that you're genius and you have a dope track record, people shrug and go "I guess this is way better than it is."

I swear that's a part of it. I'm all for artistic growth, but his old catalog is so much obviously greater than Donda.

I fukk with the Andre 3K song and the LOX and Jay Elec joints on there, and a couple others...the joint with Conway is dope.

I also think Kanye threw a ton of features and other producers on there like he was throwing a ton of toppings on top of a weak flavor.

We can argue nas has the best discogrophy among the goat tier mcs.....its crazy so much for bad beats but dude has very few garbage albums...average yea but straight basura..like maybe one lol

Im glad is releasing so much content and correcting his discography

Loving it. Its different vibe from the two KD’s. Those gave me grown man reflective vibes. This one sounds like he wrote it after spending a week at 40 projects

I’m that dusty rap dude that wants nas to hang at 40th building once a week to keep this heat… hitboy got son loving the studio

His top 4 is solidified already Illmatic IWW Lost Tapes 1 Stillmatic, everything after is up for debate
I still feel like you could put KD2 at 5 or 6, depending on where you put God’s Son. And I feel oddly similar about Magic. It’s early so I won’t make any statements but I feel like this is gonna land in the 5-7 spot somewhere. Closer to 5 than 7.

Revisit it without expectations. Or just shuffle the album into your regular playlist rotation. It's great but in such long doses. It's just like church. Loooong and your ears rum out of steam but in smaller doses, it definitely bangs. I enjoy it a lot.

I’m so grateful I loved long enough to see this era brehs. :wow: I’m listening to Ugly now. RIP to everyone that hasn’t made it this far. I can’t believe the dude that told me hip-hop was dead has gone full circle and made so much inspiring music so much later.

I’m really trying to not take all these constant music releases for granted. In 2021 Boldy and Alchemist shown that they’re the top dogs of the underground street renaissance lane, and Nas and Hit-Boy have shown that they’re the top dogs of the refined, grown man lane. These guys are all really keeping their foot on the necks of everyone in their respective lanes, and I hope all of this makes other artists try and step their games up.

I can't wait for KD3. :ahh:

I know this thread isn't about Jay but I'm for real curious if this Nas run fired up his competitive spirit, or if he really doesn't care. I'd really love to know his thoughts are on this run. Especially after KD2 and Magic in the same year.

You could easily argue Boldy/Alch and Nas/Hit Boy are the best doing it right now. And both these new projects are moody as fukk.

Drove to the barbershop bumping the album…def passes the test. I’m gonna bump Boldy on the way home.
