It's crazy because Nas used to take mad long between albums. The time bt Life is Good and Lost Tapes 2 was like 6-7 years.

And between Untitled and Life is Good was like 4 full years.

Nas blessing us with this much music now is crazy. 5 albums in 3 years with Hit

Don't know why he wasn't doing this 10 years ago

1). He WAS working at a fast rate throughout his career. From 96-2002 we got an album a year and in 99 and 02 we got two albums in a year.

2). We got an album every two years during the Def Jam era and would have had Lost Tapes 2 during that era as well but Def Jam wouldn’t give Nas the budget he wanted nor would they count it against the albums he owed them so he scrapped it.

3). 10 years ago he was setting up Mass Appeal. The plan was always for him to release his own music, for which he owned all the publishing and masters, on his own label. Mass Appeal was launched in 2014.

He owed Def Jam one more album, which became Nasir. It makes no sense strategically, to release a flurry of albums on a label your leaving. You wait until your free to do it on the label you own.
