The impression I got is that Sony owns that stuff so he was interested in them getting paid off Lost Tapes 3. I don't remember exactly when that interview came out, but I want to say King's Disease was out. In 2021, Nas partnered with Sony for the release of KD2. It was released via Mass Appeal and The Orchard, which is a Sony distribution subsidiary. That told the "music label guy" part of my brain that he's in good graces with Sony, they fukk with him, etc. Which in my mind could mean that a Lost Tapes with Sony material is more likely now than it was when that Khaled interview dropped. Not saying Nas had a bad relationship with Sony previously but it's business. You leave one place to go to another (Def Jam), I'm sure there were some people in their feelings lol. But at this point with all the labels focusing so heavily on CATALOG, Nas is def gonna be getting more love from them.Unless he's mentioned it more than once, I'm pretty sure it was his interview with DJ Khaled, not Nore.
I think the implication was that he thinks he could get cancelled for the type of shyt he used to say during that era.
